You too have proven my point.
You too have proven my point.
You have just proven my point. Well done.
Regarding the penetration, a single Challenger 2 and a US M1 were penetrated through the frontal or side armour, both ERA and composite, and while I am not sure about the extent of the damage, they were not destroyed. Those that were destroyed were the downgraded export variants in service with Iraq. However, multiple…
It detonates on contact, but could HEAT jet be deflected? I am genuinely curious about the mechanics involved. And in a split of a second between contact and detonation, there has to be some deflection.
The reason why we can’t have nice Russian thing on this site is that most Russians or their fans who visit this website are butthurt over Russia being a bad guy. Every goddamned Russia or Syria related FA article has Putinbots trying to spin things around with nonsense arguments and whataboutism.
That’s exactly why I didn’t mention sabots. Check my reply to fireWire87.
Fuel air bomb would be the last thing used for SEAD, if used for it at all. Since this thread is talking about a hypothetical scenario that would mean a full scale war between two equal opponents (US vs S. I know that sabots don’t deflect, that’s why I wrote “closer ranged infantry weapons”. While HEAT rounds are no longer used by tanks, something like RPG-29 could do some serious damage. What I can’t verify is that a shaped charge can actually be deflected.
That was actually the most plausible part of that movie.
A single SAM would turn B-52 into an aluminum rain.
K2's front looks like a wonderful shot trap, especially for the closer ranged infantry weapons. Also, it’s the most expensive tank of all times.
That’s actually a nickname of its older brother, the F-8 Crusader.
