You weren’t trying at all if you gave up after the first level. They’re super quick to beat compared to other levels in Halos past. I honestly think you just made the whole thing up to play the hipster “I’m an indie gamer” card.

Ah, there’s the New Kotaku Tone I mentioned a few weeks ago that I got ripped for.
I blew through it in about 45 minutes, this is making a mountain out of a mole hill, as per usual Kotaku has to complain about something beyond trivial.
I understand the logic behind starting a game in a linear fashion, but a couple hours of this? I dunno’.
It’s 45 minutes to an hour, maybe.
I liked the opening. Things I agree on: It was long, a bit longer than I expected. Things I disagree on: Enemy being from Halo Wars 2 is a troll move - not at all, it’s a great game, and Banished are much better enemies than the Covenant. Covenant died to make Banished possible, and Banished are much more engaging,…
Okay, I was wondering if I really lost track of time that much. The intro section felt really short.
John’s back to ripping out confidently bad takes, nature is healing.
It’d have been better if Infinite’s first couple of corridor-imprisoned hours were any good. But they’re just defyingly dreadful.
I’m not sure if it gets significantly harder, but I’ve been playing on heroic for 4 hours and its... about what I expected? It seems about the same difficulty on heroic as other halos, had I been playing on normal like the article suggested I honestly think it would’ve been a little too much of a breeze :/
Yes, if you take what was said in the worst, most pessimistic way possible. Nothing about this implies that boss fights are rage inducing on Normal.
See, my issue is less that it’s behind a paywall at all, and more that it’s behind a paywall that’s arbitrarily high, because cosmetics are included: Bungie has taught me that ten bucks buys me a season pass worth of content. This... is not that, just in terms of how much content is included. But it costs twice as…
surprise and shocker of the century: the games business is about making money. don’t spend money on the game, say your piece in a non-shitty way to the devs in whatever avenue and move on. The fact that you even typed out "harass until..." is pathetic and you should go touch grass.
You are talking about expectation more than anything else. They used to be sold together so they shall be for all time. To talk about the ‘value’ of a game or its components is a fool’s errand. Why does a 60hr JRPG cost the same as an 8hr Uncharted cost the same as a ???hr Skyrim/Fallout/Far Cry cost the same as a…
“Death threats aren’t cool BUUUUUT...” is always a take where a poster should just not hit “publish” here. And it happens way too much on Kotaku comment threads.
Counterpoint: This just demonstrates the proportion of Halo’s playerbase that has absolutely no interest in customization at all. It’s true that the vast majority of the customization is locked behind the paywall, but there’s a decent amount of default options to give your character a little personality that simply…
I actually find the opposite to be true. It’s extremely easy to see who is an enemy because of the giant red outline. If anything it’s a little TOO easy to see an enemy from across the map. If you enter an enemy’s line of site you’re going to be shot from 100 yards away.
There is no pay to win in Halo Infinite. Battlepass is solely aesthetic skins.
In addition to folders, I really need them to add Variable Refresh Rate. It’s such a clutch feature that goes a long way in smoothing out a good bit of frame rate weirdness. They’ve mentioned it before, I believe, but have been silent on it for a long time.
Home xbox set? I don’t have that issue at all.
