I really wish we could stop going through this EVERY time a game comes up. If microsoft owns it and it has not previously come out on other platforms, it’s exclusive.

I just take most of the “dancing” to be based around the fact that he doesn’t want to make a definitive statement when Xcloud might end up being possible on PlayStation. So rather than making a statement he would have to retract, and rather than closing the door on something he is working towards, you get these open…
This, right here, is the biggest issue for me. I played one game, noticed my character looked like everyone else, then went to customize and learned exactly why.
I live ~40 miles from a microsoft server bonanza and have a 200/200mpbs fiber connection.. I’m about the best possible candidate for game pass streaming.
Given the tools, players will always find the least fun way to play a game
In case anyone wondered why publishers keep making games as a service games, 7 out of 10 of these are GAAS.
And also not a comp structurally. You’re comparing the aggregate construction cost of a government funded/operated facility versus the perceived net present value of cash flows tied to a private business. It’s completely irrelevant.
That is... in no way a comp for a gas station.
instead of pulling numbers out of my butt like the blogger did, i checked glassdoor quickly to see that developers make about 80k to 220k at ubisoft. the pay raises sound like an attempt to pull up to match the market, which would be part of the reason senior employees get a bigger bump.
“All told, that amounts to about 24 million fewer units.”
Yep. We put our deposits down, and moved on. It’s a handheld console; there’s not exactly a ton to keep discussing.
Dude’s gonna get dragged on here no matter what he does, but this is a step in the right direction.
It’s hard to applaud anything super-wealthy people do, but this is actually an extremely rare effort. Although it’s a temporary decision, I’m sure, he’s making as much as I do now, and he doesn’t *have* to be, and honestly, good for him, that’s not an easy decision for anyone to make. Yes, he’s still really rich.…
He’s supposed to be 15 in the books, eventually reaching 19 by the end of the first novel. Ferguson is actually about the right age for that, if you assume that Jessica became Leto’s concubine in her early twenties or late teens. Same for Oscar Isaac at 42 - he’s old enough to plausibly be the father of a teenager.
You act like the other Halo games didn’t consist of “go there, blow that up” missions all along... which is kind of silly.
I’d say a vast majority.
Yep that’s it exactly. It’s like the linearity “problem” as well. It’s how Final Fantasy X is just as linear as Final Fantasy XIII, but the former gets dramatically less criticism for it because it’s executed in a way that doesn’t put a spotlight on that linearity. More developed side characters and details like towns…
Even at the time we (should have) known the limitations of gaming/programming abilities and what was possible. The idea of a trilogy of games that each have half-a dozen crucial plot moments that are advertised as creating wildly different stories is mind-numbing to the point you shouldn’t believe it. I mean, just…
Monetization in gaming has been shifting and frankly I don’t know where it will end up. I think there will continue to be many different options; digital, physical, subscription, streaming, DLCs, etc. If you have an awesome IP people will gladly pay for solid content, but getting that balance just right it seems the…
I still stand by that I don’t think this is ideal for a consumer electronic. I already know I’m going to have a lot of relatives call me up to help them with upgrading their PS5s only to see that they stripped the screw, the heatsink is too big, and the SSD is too slow (and I’m assuming at that point a game has come…
