I had a Bolt in 2020. After the recalls and no dates of when it was getting fixed and the recommendations nerfing everything about the car, I sold it (for what I paid for it) a year later. But that, after lots of games and coupon-cutting, is the only option on the market for a reasonable EV car at a reasonable price.

I am American and I want a 200+ mile EV capable for 85 mph for less than $30K and I have cash waiting.

If you think that range is bad now, try hauling that 3800 lb load through the winter cold on that average 74 mile trip. Easily that 126 mile range turns into less than 60 and you’re stuck charging. And that is 126 miles from 100%-to-0%, which no one does, nor is recommended to do. In reality it is recommended

Liquid cooled? Kickstarter available? Center stand as well as side stand, standard or optional accessory?

I want a boring bland EV. The issue is those are still over $40K.

They did, literally. It’s called the Bolt EUV. And most of that size went to the back seat and cargo area.

The gold bottomed ones were great because even in the summer you could have the look of encroaching dirty slush from snowy roads adorn the backside of your car.

Passive battery cooling and CHAdeMO charging totally turned me off from even looking at the Leaf as an option, even though it fits my use case perfectly.

I didn’t know there was a diesel version. Mazda engine at that. And of course they offered the Jalopnik model. Brown wagon with five speed.

Sold my time bomb 2020 Chevy Bolt EV to Carmax. $41K MSRP, $26K OTD $2500 incentives on top of that from state. Carmax cut me a check for $24K. Overall I am happy with that. I am sure I could have gotten more, but with such a huge recall, I don’t think so. New sales for the same 2020 car are going for around $24K

Only if you have a garage you can park at overnight with a charger. A lot of people living in apartments or have to park outside do not have that luxury. So  while their commute might be short, they have to do that commute many times a week before they have a chance to use a charger. 300+ mile range doesn’t have to be

That paint job fuchs.

City dwellers rent. They don’t have garages. They can’t charge every night. A city car still needs 300 mile range because it will only hit those long charges once a week and needs to last the 25 mile round trip commute daily in between.

Total Bolt sales globally since 2017 was 145K. This is 80k in just one year and only sold in US. This is not a drop in the bucket for sure.

12 in this generation alone.

45 recalls since 2005.

They also recommend not using extension cables, the current could melt them with long power draws, so even parking outdoors isn’t a good idea. Nor is the charger they provide waterproof. The connection to the car itself is ok, but the box is not. I have the 2020 with the different battery design and manufacturing but

I would rather take a pickup truck from the world’s leader in pickup truck production on a platform that has been broken in already with the Escape hybrid platform that will be a couple years old already when the Maverick ships AND still costs thousands cheaper AND has more interior room and cargo capacity and hauling.

My Prius C with 0-60 in 10 seconds was more than fast enough. I would ride my 200cc scooter on the interstate. No need for more than that. It’s WANT, not NEED, and that’s where it should stop.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office told AL.com that they had no reports of the attacks on strikers.”
