Fun for a club type of thing maybe- like a big party if you had the space. But the sound has GOT to be really bad out of Frankenspeaker like that!

@fadecomic: Actually, I think I've seen plenty of rude things foreign visiters have done. But I also have to say, when I've gone to other countries, the stuff I see my countrymen do, it makes me cringe. For better of worse, we are kind of play it loose culture. But think of it this way, if you could avoid really…
@bdinger: I've seen the and experienced the damage alcoholism can wreak. No argument there. But for most people, (especially if they don't start at 13!) it can be like any other food. In fact, it's pretty obvious people abuse sugar and fat as much or more than booze.
Basically you can't watch any of the cool cable shows, and not many network ones either. Plus, the quality is not as good for many either if you go with large HD.
@nerve11: I'm right there with you Bro. No Mac, and NO Big Steve over my shoulder saying I have to do it his way or else.
Interesting study. Indeed, perhaps most of the way we experience everything in life is due to Beliefs. Not that many of those beliefs may be objectively and verifiably true- but so much of how we deal with experience starts from out perspective. The people I know who are the most run-down, tired, or have "bad luck"…
@jeepingeek: OK- My bad! It was not a very clear opening statement by the OP, but I see now exactly what he was actually saying. Apologies all around.
Ummm, "or somehow ended up with Nook and a Kindle"? Sorry, I bought a Nook because I WANTED one, and wouldn't trade it for an Ipad if you payed me (well maybe if you paid me).
On the flip side, if I have veggies or fruit that is NOT ripe, I always put them on top of a bowl of apples to move things along a bit.
@mlstrum: Makes sense- a good mirror is pretty much a metal panel.
I have this exact problem. We have a great house, solid as can be, built in 1882 and it is indeed as if there are lead walls throughout! My guess has long been the plaster walls, and many friends have pointed out that even aside from the chicken wire issue, plaster also was mixed with horse hair, which is also the…
@TXCHLInstructor: That is the silliest thing I have ever heard! Don't let your own problems or biases color reality.
@SakuRedux: There is a huge range of health reasons, not the least of which will reduce your chances of colon cancer, and other lower region problems. Fiber scrubs your arteries which keep your heart healthier longer and reduce surgeries and medications as you get older. A lot of foods and nutrients need something to…
As an industrial designer, I'll just say this: making something so perfectly "ergonomic" meaning fitting exactly to your touch/body is not always a good idea. So much of out use of a tool is flowing. It changes with tasks and over the course of even an hour. We NEED to be able to not be locked in. You make something…
@geekymitch: Oh, how true. Needs to be part of every MBA program out there! All except his font analysis, which any actual designer would disagree with. Love the floating blobs!
I like it for a quick collaboration gallery. I often want to just show a client or other designer something quickly and then just delete the gallery when done.
It's obvious (or should be) why so many PP presentations suck: they are made by people who otherwise have not a lick of artistic or design talent, let alone training! Just because I get Excell in my Office suite doesn't give me the ability to do corporate financials, any more than Word makes me a writer, or a video…
@vinylrake: Good points-I almost always add a little wood glue to parts and often the screws when doing an Ikea-type assembly. Yes- it takes away the "disassembly" possibility, but who really wants to take apart one of those things anyway? The extra glue keeps it all from FALLING apart though! :)
I love the way it looks, but if I end up making any myself, I think I might add some vent slots or something. Wood can trap heat pretty well, and teak is very dense, so I'd be slightly concerned.
Love the idea, the guy's spirit of technical adventure, and the results are great!
