Not problems. 2015 SAE regulations. Didn’t meet them, R&D and ECN changes from new supplier cost was too high for Mitsibushi to handle.

3d printing with metal is already commerically available. But if you want to build 100,000 STI’s in a year, you’re not using 3d printers to make your parts LOL. derp

They are no different then automotive manufacturing. If the business is doing bad, you remove the management and restructure. Focus on quality and getting the product to the customer on time. Turn over anyone that doesn’t perform. Only way you will save the brand, if not you close up shop. Again its not any different

That puny little air gun could never handle the torque spec of an axle nut. You should of used a bigger one or electrical rated at 1500ft.lbs, some ear plugs and hang on the gun for at least a full 30 seconds. Any real mechanic would agree. fail.

I’m so happy for him. What a great guy.

Magna innovator checking in. Go suppliers go!

Don’t forget the neighbors that help everyone here get to work in 90% of their cars.

It takes approx 2.5 years to re tool an assembly line. Thats a standard time frame. (I work there)

I help build the Model S and X cradles front and rear + AWD. We have no word on re tooling a line for the 3 yet. barely even a peep... we’re a long ways off before we start shipping model 3 parts. Good luck waiting pre-orders.

I have the 2015 STI. Any modern stroller/carrier combo fits no problem! I have a 6 mos/year old.

Hell ya, they do it for all the STi and Evo owners because they know whats up.

LOL fuckin Doug running his mouth again.

Sounds like they need a proper IT infrastructure setup that applies ITIL and Security.
@Mercedes, I’m available.

HAHA! Heyyoooo.

I help engineer vehicles at the supplier level. When these twits realize half their dreams cannot be done due to safety regulations and limited mass production technology, they will realize they’ve wasted their time...... and mine. Idiots.

I’m probably going to stop reading Jalopnik because of articles like these. Just stahp.

Nothing wrong with raiding a good parts bin. Your supplier is already making a million of them, why not?

Rigged list is rigged

You know nothing.

Boom, Star Trek real life.
