Is it possible that DRJ actually is trying to stop the observers instead of the other universe? I may have missed it explicitly stated, but at least Nick kept referring to the enemy as "the other side" which really applies to any war right? What are the odds that the observers have some ridiculous plan and that DRJ

Who do you charge for a crime then? Who's the father/mother of a child that was conceived before the copy? They both have the exact same memories (at point of copy) so they both are convinced.

That's a philosophical discussion. It becomes complicated when you CAN copy everything exactly. And then what if I make a perfect copy but then take out the entire brains and have them switch bodies...

I love this movie.

Actually it is. Like rj-pilot mentions it's not EMP protection due to the wavelength of the EMP relative to the window size. But it still keeps the charge on the outside due to the metal body construction.

Your car is also a Faraday cage - it's why your safe(r) there during a lightning storm.

How old is Walter in Fringe??? He still looks pretty good in 25 years. I don't know his exact age but you have to figure he's close to 55 at least now, which would make him close to 80 in 2036.

Isn't this movie basically Cube without the cube?

Awesome. Totally awesome. It would be more awesome if the crowd wasn't standing there casually watching though. And I'm convinced it might be completely staged (including the button pressers) because none of them move. You'd think a fight, a car swerving, or gunshots would cause them to at least move.

I also think the intent is not to prevent the younger version of yourself from completing objectives. Suicide would not allow for that.

Why would apple accept exchanges for the iPad when it's a software issue? Doesn't that cost them more money than to do a factory reset on the device?

What if I told you he's already dead? And that he's undead?

Uhm. That is what the books are. They will have action here and there, some battle here, some murder there. But it's really about the interactions between all these different factions and sub-factions and their political maneuvers.

Wouldn't creating a 4 position rotating wall like they did make it SO much more complicated? They had to design all of the steps on all wall positions except the first to be able to be upside down with no ill effect, plus all that motion could knock something out of allignment.

How is it even possible to get those two confused?

Your statistic is a little skewed since the crashing statistic given was "on or near the base". So it's not a pure crash rate but a near the base crash rate.

+1

Very much so. Plus the potential security issues that can arise from the release of too much information. Press releases should be slow and thought out in general - with the military even more so.

Most of the time I agree with some of the criticism that these blogs get, but I don't get this one. An open field would be a better place for instance. How about in a lake or over water? Do those count? If the premise is "F-18 crashing" clearly some places are better than others. Chill

Good point. If I'm going to be an alcoholic I should at least take up drinking.
