This makes no sense if this was written in 2011 and rejected by Depp the same year because he didn’t want the negative reaction from dark shadows to follow him due to the female villain...uh no no dark shadows wasn’t released till 2012 when it bombed...

Soooo.... This is just the take of the person who’s script was not being used. It MIGHT be true, or it might also be that people have been complaining that the script quality has been going in a downhill spiral and they brought in some new blood.
