I think it helped that McMorris’s highest scoring run was his second, and Gerard’s was his third. The scoring seems to get higher later in the competition. Also, McMorris did make tiny mistakes, and Gerard didn’t.

I rank sports on the amount of athleticism is (seemingly) required. While there’s no way I could ever compete in skeleton or snowboarding, I feel like given the right amount of coaching, anybody could compete in ice dancing or curling.

I’m honestly trying to understand your point, but I’m really confused. You seem to be saying that sport is only a sport if a person/people competes directly against another person/people (ie basketball, football). This just isn’t factually correct. Skiing, swimming, and track are sports whether you like them or not.

Honestly kind of surprised they chose LadyBird over Call Me By Your Name and Three Billboards for Best Director. For me, Lady Bird was okay, but it wasn’t in my top 5 of the year.
