Yeah, I think the workman-like consistency is what keeps them fresh. They never even seem to aim for big masterpieces, but just churn out their thing with slight, but striking variations. Naturally, it's an undervalued quality.

It's basically unheard of that a band still delivers career highlights after 20 years.

Also, the old format is still listed on the homepage, but the latest entries are weeks old.

Best thing about Spoon is you can actually argue which one is the stone cold classic. I'd go with Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

Agreed, though what I do miss is the air between the notes that made all previous Spoon albums feel like spontaneous, loose jam sessions. This is by far the most densely arranged Spoon album and I'm afraid some striking details and this feeling of spontanity may get lost a bit under all the layers. Let's see how it

When "never-wills" call other people "has-beens"…and later befriend them on FB.

I guess this is an improvement, since I do want to see Avatar 2 even less than Aquaman.

I'm not sure if you can call an oscar winner a "rising talent" as if she's just about to break through.

That's really underselling McCarthy. Her Spicer, the pizza business lady or the racist bus lady to name just a few are very different and not at all one note. More importantly, she manages to carve out very distinctive characters within just a few minutes, which is a lot more than most hosts manage to do with their

I recently scrolled through the Five Timers Club after ScarJo was inducted and realized out of 20 people or so there were only 4 women. So I'm glad McCarthy joins their ranks as the second woman within just a few weeks. SNL is ramping up their proportion of women, which is only fitting for a show that is mainly

TV seasons are reviewed like that (which means with the number of episodes that were sent out to the press) since the dawn of time.

That's what everybody tries to keep telling themselves for years now.

Not sure where Perkins' complete lack of enthusiasm comes from. Every sketch was at least good and ScarJo is a charming pro. B

I'm not complaining that she got no dying words or whatever. I'm talking about that the audience could literally miss that scene if they don't pay attention for a sec. If you want to make a statement about how death can be cold, sudden and violent during battles, you better make sure that the audience at least

Well, there's a difference between a sudden, violent death and a "blink and you'll miss it" death for a character who played a major role for half of the series.

I appreciate these interviews, though was it that hard to get a female cast member? I can imagine SMG or Alyson Hannigan weren't really a possibility, but what about Charisma Carpenter, Emma Caulfield, Eliza Dushku, Amber Benson, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kristine Sutherland? Instead we get the entirety of the trio.

How delightful that this movie that has the usual 10 men and 2 women blockbuster character line-up is released on women's day.

Yeah, let's just give up when things get too bad.

I hate Conway as much as the next one, but this is ridiculous. Focus on actual issues.
