Did everyone forget about Jakku? Which is clearly Tattooine II: Desert Boogaloo

*You’re.

Pissed?  Hell no.  Watching these right wing morons in these absolutely terrible movies is a secret joy.  Get a few friends together with some beers and maybe some edibles and throw on the latest from Kevin Sorbo or Gina and I guarantee you’ll have a good time.

We find it hilarious, actually.

And in the most predictable development in the history of time, it turns out all the chuds who were complaining about Cara being a big tough woman until Carano started agreeing with them about the Nazis not being that bad, are now perfectly happy to go right back to that, slamming her new movies with the Daily Wire

Which is Alderaan, so that’s especially stinging.

If they just decided she was a bad actress (she is) and never brought her back or mentioned her ever again, would anybody even notice?

Cara Dune died on the way back to her home planet.

TBF I can’t imagine that the overlap on the Venn diagram of “people interested in the work of challenging and exciting new authors of color” and “people actually reading an Ian Fleming James Bond novel in the Year Of Our Lord 2023" is that big.

Man in bookstore: “Gee, I was all set to read “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates, but now I see there’s a new edition of “Thunderball.”

The film franchise is one of the most successful in cinematic history and continues to gross billions of dollars. It stands to reason that some newer viewers may want to check out the novels they are based on, like I did when I was a kid. These aren’t - to my knowledge - being included on reading lists or school

Because it’s an either/or proposition?

Okay I own a good number of Flemings Bond books. Casino Royale, Thunderball, Goldfinger and so forth. Fleming did not keep his racial and gender opinions to himself. Goldfinger alone has about 9 different ethnic slurs for the Chinese people who help Goldfinger at Fort Knox and all the women who help him are lesbians

Funny coincidence — Fleming and Dahl worked together in British intelligence stationed in Washington DC in 1940-1941, trying (unsuccessfully) to get FDR to enter the war (before Pearl Harbor decided the issue). There’s a great book about them by Jennet Conant called “The Irregulars: The British Spy Ring in Wartime

Sources say school administrators were suspicious of the high school teacher who could apparently pay rent AND feed himself.

My favorite Roman moment from the original run was when he was somehow on the verge of getting together with a porn star but couldn’t stop himself from being pedantic about the difference between fantasy and sci-fi. Even though he knew that if he could just not be a dick he would’ve very likely gotten laid by a porn

One of the main points of the Roman/Kyle relationship was the inversion of the usual trope: shitty nerd relentlessly bullies upbeat but decent vapid pretty boy.

It was everything I hoped for in the new season of Party Down. Pumped for more episodes.

Had a lot of fun with this one. I was a massive fan back during its original run so it was nice to see the gang again.

wild how i wrote this to specifically call out halo infinite then didnt even need to mention it by name
