Not sure how this comment contributes, other than to make the same point others already have...but there’s still no excuse for these horrid looking vehicles, I don’t care who dictates the look of them.

Probably a pretty fair assumption, but if that is true it even further begs the question; why then come on Jalopnik and brag about it? I mean his exact comment was “Them are some nice mirrors, its like I helped work on the prototypes or something. This certainly sounds to me like he’s trying to brag abut the design

Fair point, I haven’t and that makes sense. I would have loved to see the engineers reaction when they saw the finish product. I imagine them holding back uncontrollable laughter as they looked at each other and whispered “damn I guess the mirrors don’t look so bad after all, at least they can’t blame that hideous

Fair enough, but I think we are getting a bit far from the point I was trying to make...I’m not trying to split hairs between the engineering and design aspect of the vehicle redesign, because I think most people would agree it was the designer that made this vehicle an utter shit show, not the engineer. Yes there

Whats so laughable is the correlation between decreased access to the engine bay and drops in reliability, as you progress up the price ladder in mass market vehicles. In other words these higher end companies, Mercedes, Audi and BMW have begun sealing off the engine bay, removing basic access to oil levels, fan

Never said they were the same, but here’s to hoping you don’t believe the delusion that the two are completely separate.

Spot on, the scariest thing about it, is either every person who reviewed this thing (had to be at least 100) had this diluted view of the design, or people simply don’t care enough to speak up....either instance is bad news for Chevy.

Came here to post this same thing. How he could think these look good and then actually proceed to brag in the comments that he was involved, is absolutely beyond me. That being said it starts to shed light on how some of these hideous things make it out of the design studio. Too many people who have no business

Really good point here...seems like they made the car and forgot to actually give it an opening, and one of the design team just went “shit, i’ll just draw it here”, about that time the execs came and signed off as the remaining design members collectively went “no no no no no!” under their breath when they realized

I don’t know, somehow this is worst than those to and it might be because at least hose abominations finish at a straight edge lip above the tails...this thing just slumps down to the bumper.

Super long front end, with the highest point of the car coming nearly at the rear passengers head, followed by the worlds biggest C-pillar, a car designers nighmare... How could a company miss so hard on a hatchback, and yet nail the sedan...

Looks like the renderings were accurate, this thing is an eye-sore, worst C-pillar in the biz...

Exactly, I understand the desire to make it look “sleek” but when you remove any semblance of a firm line from tip to tail, the car just ends up looking like a lump of clay dropped off a 20 foot ledge. To build off your front heavy comment, because of the way they designed the windshield shape, it literally looks like

Am I the only one that hates that C-pillar? I hear everyone talk about how “Beautifully elegant it is”....but i don't see it, way way way to much unbroken sheet metal...

Someone needs to talk about how god awful that stupid shifter switch is.... At what point did Porsche look at the gear shift and say “Ah you know what would look better there, a light switch!”(insert grossly overplayed and exaggerated German accent)

Kristen you’re great but this article makes me think you have no idea what the word “garish” means... The only thing about this car thats obtrusive at all is maybe the orange paint... you want to see a garish 992, challenge accepted........ There, this is the worlds worst 992, enjoy or vomit, whatever.

Yeah, thats what everyone wanted....

Yeah....this take is wrong, just wrong. First it will sell because its a jeep, market demand is extremely high and people in this country have a love affair with them. Second the Ram 1500 buyer and Jeep Gladiator buyer couldn’t be any more different... Lastly these things will certainly be driven off-road

Your points are well founded, but I don’t believe its nearly as black and white as you claim and there are several reasons why:

Couldn’t make a comment about the validity of one Tax bill without introducing a completely irrelevant comment about racism. Believe what you want, but this is a large part why our country can’t get anything done, instead of investigating the validity of policy and whats best for the country, we resort to defaming
