I think you may have answered something I’ve been wondering about. We recently went to this restaurant that is mainly seafood, either fried and served in baskets, or something like a crab boil. And the stuff that we thought we would order when we got this idea turned out to be more expensive than we imagined, so we

Oh, wait.  Amazon is stealing tips, so please leave cash with the receptionist or come down and pay yourself.

You don’t have a receptionist or an app that deals with that?

I know, right?

I don’t know if people still do this sort of thing, but when I grew up in the seventies it was so common there were products that came in containers that were specifically designed for people to drink out of after they finished eating jelly. So we had all these little glasses that originally contained pimento cheese

You may not be cheap. You may be confused that you aren’t supposed to tip everyone who drives their car for you. If they are not driving their own car, if they drive a company truck, then they probably are not supposed to get tips and you’re fine. In my area there is Amazon Flex, they drive their own cars. That you do

Guilty.

I do not tip my amazon driver because I do not have one. Why do you think yours doesn’t need tips? Anybody driving their own vehicle needs tips. They are paying all this stuff that you don’t want to pay, and then they have to pay extra just because they are delivery drivers.

Okay.  And you are tipping the delivery guys too?

Unless you’ve made less than a dozen trips, $25 sounds low.

My parents accidentally put a glass through the disposer. They decided it worked better after that and put in a couple of ice cubes once in a while after that.

Why does your wife hate Brazil nuts?

I know that I cannot airbnb my place. I cannot sublease the place. I am not even sure that I would be allowed to get a roommate.

Besides having a roommate might be undesirable (and I can’t think of anyone who for sure has one), some of us would not be allowed to have one.

Yes. For me to take that hour and a half bus ride, I would first have to drive 20 minutes minutes in my car. I pretty much only use public transportation for jury duty.

I guess most advice is useful for somebody somewhere. I just don’t know anybody this advice is useful for. You got lucky. You couldn’t just do this because you read some article.

Clearly you and your family should move into a backyard tent on weekends.

Looks like you just need to find that special over 40 person who wants to screw you on a regular basis. It will save you both a lot of money. Why wasn’t that advice in the article?

How much are you tipping your drivers that you only spend $150 a month. Or do you work at home or something?

You got lucky with the job and the apartment. And you still have a car. And you work in a city center. All the stuff had to line up. In the future you might be working somewhere else, and then you might buy another car, etc...
