This case gets mentioned whenever product liability comes up. Thing is, the popular take “old lady gets millions for being dumb" just isn't true. Here’s a quick refresher:

There isn’t going to be a solution that doesn’t cause her harm. Using acetone will leave her with burns and any mechanical treatment will take chunks of her scalp. There’s no way this ends without her being permanently disfigured in some way. The only question will be how severely.

Yep. She shouldn’t have a case against the manufacturer.

I’m with you. I feel for her. She made a stupid decision. When I was in my 20's (I know she’s in her 40's) I made the dumb decision to use dish soap to get my hair to stick straight up. It burned my scalp. I’m lucky it didn’t do permanent damage.
That being said, while I hope she doesn’t have to pay for her stupid

It’s ignorant until you’re already past the point and have to deal with the results. We don’t know the final outcome. She might lose some or most of the skin on her scalp. She might be looking at reconstructive surgery, not for cosmetic reasons, but to close a gaping wound on her head.

“She deserves to be bald for the rest of her life. Can’t take care of your own body, deal with the consequences.”

Imagine if your child were born with medical issues that would require lifetime care costing millions you know you’ll never have, but the doctor has medical malpractice insurance. Even if you were pretty sure it wasn’t their fault, wouldn’t you be forced to at least consider choking the money out of the

The proof is in how gorilla glue works. All the biomechanical processes you're thinking of have expanded, permanent bonding agent clogging them up. No oil secretion, no shedding of dead cells. Nothing.

Yeah she would have been better off giving the update, saying “I was stupid and wasn’t thinking- kids don’t put glue on your head”. Everyone does dumb things sometimes and we don’t know how tired or stressed she was etc when she made that decision- but sharing it on social media was a bad idea, especially as a

There is an Armand Hammer Blvd in my town, and since this news came out i can’t help but think of it every time i pass it or see the exit, which is basically every time i leave the house. I need it to stop. I need to bleach my brain.

I had to deal with the paparazzi once. I was working for a nonprofit at the time and we landed a super famous star to come to an event. Two paparazzi showed up and they just oozed grossness. The best shorthand I can use to describe them is obnoxious frat boys, but worse. Just these parasitic dudes with backwards

Your comment made my day. I needed that laugh. Thank you.

I’m basically an atheist because this is pretty much the norm in America. The churches that get the GOP hard are all, pretty much universally, ones that I find repulsive and antithetical to the Christian theological ideas that I was instilled with as the kid of a lift leaning hippy.

...they got confused about which GMG site covers Harris’ press statements? I hope “Jezebel” doesn’t take over though, I’m still in the grays over there. I don’t comment enough to get ungrayed. If Harris does have to take over, I hope we can Root things out instead.

One of the few times that I’m thankful to be alive during this timeline

Someone needs to point out that Lindell uses his own product and now his head is full brain worms.

The New York Times TV reviewer had this to say about ‘looney guy with Pillows’ show:

Please call them Our Pillows or The People’s Pillows

YourPillow. Go full troll.

My sons all decided to grow their hair at some point in their childhoods. I didn’t keep their hair long, they made choices about their own appearances and we respected them; otherwise, our teachings of “Your body is your own” would have been hollow bullshit.
