I too am (happily) entrenched in the Apple ecosystem, and Im pissed for the same reason.

I am a heavy camera user, and I know a bit about how aperture/focal length/blah/blah effect the overall size. I guess the bump may have been necessary to keep the aperture at f2.2... but I don't think f2.2 is really fast enough to justify that kind of design sacrifice.

what I don't get is the people with cases that cost half of or near to the value of the phone. For the price of an otterbox, why not just get a beater back up phone used?

I'm not worried about scratches, everything I've heard/read about sapphire has been very positive. I'd be more worried about the lens scratching a table than it getting damaged.

I hate cases.

and don't forget that hideous protruding lens. It's pretty much a deal breaker for me.

Ok I really want the interchangeable lens model, just so I can use my Leica glass on my iPhone.

I prefer to use this lens for street photography.
