I remember grinding rep in old AV for my pig mace...old AV was great. Glad to see the summoning aspect brought back, via Ashran.

Came here to say just that. I don't know, with all other fantasy movies, there are plenty of supernatural things occuring, but with Homeric epics, Hollywood tends to humanize them...the Greek Gods and their pettiness/brutality/duality are why these epics are so fun in the first place!
Don't forget about X3!
A polearm type weapon is good, especially if it is a unit or group collectively wielding them. However, for an individual it would still be good, since you can attack from a distance. But, you need room to wield it, so you need another, smaller weapon handy to help if swarmed by multiple zombies or if fighting in…
You're forgetting the whole rich man getting into heaven is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle, thing.
actually, I would watch the second season. Like you, I was a bit ambivalent after the first, but then binged watched the second season on amazon and loved it. Donal Logue is great as Horik. The third season is solid thus far.
and the blatant anachronisms - referring to Russia multiple times (Vikings had yet to even establish the kievan rus!) and the use of cavalry by Egbert - to name a few.
I would say that is a bit of a gross generalization. The vast majority of crusaders, including those in the knights of st. John and the templars, were French (which led to the Arabs in the region to think all crusaders were French and labeled them as "the franj") Hence why the Templars were a main target of Phillip…
They also pioneered the use of credit-giving people statements in Templar code that could be deposited at any templar bank on their travels - saved pilgrims and travelers from having to carry too much gold.
Medieval history buff here - the template do have some amazing and interesting history. A good starting book would be Dungeon, Fire, and Sword. The plotting and intrigue of all the players in Outremer, Templars included, is very fun to read and evaluate.
I think Ron Perlman would kill it as 90's cable.
Such garbage. With so many amazing stories and characters, why the need to blatantly make up stuff? Just take Edith Hamilton's mythology and make it into a series, please god (Zeus).
Please god have them undo the whole mephisto/single PP event to save aunt may. Just horrible. Put that old bitch in the ground where she belongs.
Well Above the 6.0 limit (9.5), but probably my favorite stout- Yeti, Great Divide-
Ah, the odd character of Arthur Conan Doyle. On one hand, he can be dead on with identifying a trend like submarine warfare. On the other, he would have odd fascinations with the occult, séances in particular.
It is very interesting to study scenarios such as The Lusitania for this very reason - parties claiming to be the victim might actually just be looking for an excuse to use it as propaganda or justification. Given the overall belligerence in Europe's foreign policy across the board at the time, I think this is par for…
I agree and I think a good question would be, was it actually known by the Germans that the ship was in fact carrying arms or was this a revelation that came after the fact? If the latter, it obviously wouldn't justify torpedoing it. I think history shows they were pretty indiscriminate on their targets so saying the…
and throw in Ray Stevenson as Ben Plumm or any of the other mercs, and we have an awesome reunion.
Probably the Tyrion Fordring quest line from vanilla wow. Such a great story, detailing a hero's rise and fall, all the while covering aspects of lore from the Warcraft series we all knew and loved. Then to finish with that great, heartbreaking ending. Too bad the quest line is defunct now, hands down my favorite wow…
Sounds like we have about the same palette. I wasn't a fan of the speysides either, I guess I just love a strong peatiness in my scotches that only the islays and some highlands bring.
