It’s intentional. They know people will make a comment about it. Comments mean clicks, which means engagement, etc.

You’re assuming that automakers want to install this tech. You’re adding cost for a feature that the vast majority of drivers don’t care about enough to spend money on and maintain.

It’s not a worker shortage, it’s a compensation shortage. Pay people enough and they will work for you.
