I have absolutely zero issue with that point-of-view (in fact it’s one I share), and to be perfectly honest, as someone who was never a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan to begin with, the more I read about Corgan’s views the more inclined I am to eschew the band entirely.

Well, that’s a shame for you.

“Despite all his rage, Billy Corgan has matured with age”. Better title. Are you even trying, Title Guy?

(Listens to Siamese Dream, still enjoys it)

So I think there’s a line between a being a humble brag and trying to be a vocal proponent to call out other uber wealthy people

Isn’t that more on Ellen and her creative team? She was the one who created the game, he went on the show to promote awareness on whatever issue he’s focusing on atm.

Well I wouldn’t call him endearing necessarily but if you follow what Bill Gates and his wife are doing with their charity foundation, they’re honestly using their enormous wealth to try and make the world a much better place.

He’s donated $35 billion over the past twenty years (including $4.5 billion last year) and he and his wife have pledged to leave each of their three children no more than $10 million each. So yeah, by the end of his life he will have donated virtually his entire fortune and likely well north of $100 billion to charity.

Um this is exactly what he’s doing. He’s donated himself down several notches on the world’s richest list. Giving away a shitload of money is actually really hard to do well, and he and his wife seem to be doing it (except in education, but that’s not unique to them and their effort is better than Zuckerberg’s).

Not to mention, inaccurate. The Gates’s have been very upfront about not being interested in the government giving them more tax breaks.

It’s a funny premise that he’s out of touch, which is the point of the segment, but out of all the rich people to hate, I don’t get hating him. He doesn’t seem to live all that lavishly given his means, and he’s not one of the ones lobbying to rig the system even more in his favor. He legitimately does give a lot to

I agree with this, the hate was palpable in this article. I mean, Sure he is rich but hasnt he been one of the people coming out against tax reform? As well as making numerous statements lamenting the state and cost of education here? I mean, im not sure he has actively lobbied to back up these statements but he is

Can you guess within $1 billion how much he’s donated to charity?

i cant figure out why you hate him.

is it because he’s a white male?

is it because he hasnt grocery shopped in probably decades? he has people for that?

is this jezebel?

In the same spirit then, it’s Billy I wish were better. A goon, yeah, could be. I love the music so much, I hate it when I see his name in a headline and I know it’s going to be something stupid. Not something that’s going to make people say, “I should go listen to his old band’s brilliant music”.

But you can literally stay as long as you want under the rules of the sign. If you have five minutes to finish your drink, just say literally at the 4:30 mark, and reset the clock.

Why is ANY of that his fault? He was setting an example by showing up as a citizen. He ALWAYS has a large security detail as an ex-President. When he’s in the jury room, should he have shunned the people there? Hid from them? He knew people wanted to meet him and he obliged happily. (I myself would have been

Fair point but you could also advocate for better compensation and systems. My home county sent me a questionnaire before I got called that included “are you able to get yourself to the court” (big county shitty public transportation) amongst other questions.

Even if he wasn’t the president (nope, still president. I reject reality) and just some nameless schlubb, the guy is still a lawyer. He would get dismissed so fast during the selection process, it’d look like the coyote after the Road Runner.

Ah, that explains his charity work with Habitat for Inhumanity.
