Tales from the Loop was an excellent season of storytelling.  Given that it only got one season, I can only hope that The Electric State will make a good followup.

Love the show, hopefully the next season will be better. Season 4 should have been called “For All Plot Convenience”.

The idea that anyone would take her case at all is mystifying. Everything I’ve read about the Mandalorian production said she wouldn’t stop spouting her shitty takes even on the job, and everyone was sick of her hateful nonsense. Carano willing turned herself into a poison pill and now cries that no one wants her

Calling Disney “hard left” is laughable. I’d like to know what actions of Disney’s have been “left”, when they’re center, at most.

As a Texan, I could see an alliance between the state’s cities and California.

Not sure if I’m giving this episode points for including a Jon Hopkins track, or taking away points for not having enough of it.

this has been on loop in my head for two days now.

I think it’s a colloquialism, but the idea is that Japan, immediately post-WWII, is so broken and unmoored from its own historical trajectory that as a society it’s at a terrible disadvantage to deal with any more tragedy. IOW, they’re not starting from zero, but from -1.

Ignore and flag.  Troll loves the engagement.

Do you have any long-term health issues?  It seems like there’s a great deal of reality that you simply aren’t capable of experiencing or absorbing.  Hope you get the help you need.

Am I the only one that thinks Carrie was always this way? Despite all of the “life lessons” that OG Carrie turned into episodic musings for her column, her behavior was one of someone who pursued the trappings of wealth and luxury, and eschewed any meaningful relationships in favor of the rich guy to whom she was

I understand the reasoning behind this opinion, though I still marvel at people’s ability to watch more than one or two episodes of anything in a day.

Miao Yin and I had tickets to a concert in Seattle earlier this year, and about 4 months ahead the tour was cancelled. The best part is that the fees - which I could in no way avoid having to pay up front - were not refundable because TM “has provided a service that must be paid for.”

This article doesn’t do itself any favors by being vague on the sequence of events. But it seems like Rios started this off by accusing the org of not compensating her last Friday, and only accused Huerta of sexual assault as what amounts to an afterthought on Saturday - is that how it went? I’m not a Twitter user

You’re assuming that he’d be concerned about that. If you look at his work on RT, the audience score for the work in which he stars is consistently high, regardless of the critic score.  Kind of takes the wind out of the sails of critic reviews.

Surprised that I need to say this, but it’s possible for an actor to do intense research and immersion into a role and for the film it’s in to be critically panned. Not sure why that’s brought up here as if it’s somehow relevant to his experience.

Given that the first season of the mushroom zombie show featured very few mushroom zombies, I’m guessing S2 is going to be about Joel’s Sheep Farm and Guitar Lessons.  Or, what you said.

Declare is one of those books that took me several tries before I could generate the momentum to carry past the first few chapters, but boy was it ever worth the effort. Wild story, and deftly woven into historical events, and characters like Philby.  I second your endorsement.

Every episode of this show delivers, but it goes way beyond that for those that played the games. So much of the show matches the story beats and character arcs from the game, and it really underscores just how masterful a job was done telling that story in the game.
