I think there's some truth in the old wisdom that you can win elections easier with personalities than policies - for a period Boris was seen as a fun comic figure. Thankfully that image seems to have been shaken by the Brexit campaign and his shambolic retreat into the shadows ever since, so I don't think he'd be

But you're not wrong, they'll absolutely promise a lot of resistance in the early going. They'll want to conclusively prove that a Tory government would be a disaster and get Britain back to the polls.

I think the Tories have enough division that May just point-blank CAN'T get Brexit through without cross-party support. And that's a good thing. Lib-Dems and SNP are both very pro-Remaining in the EU, but I do think that Labour will suck up their differences regarding the Brexit negotiations - assuming the Tory party

In the UK, every council elects a representative "member of parliament (MP)", and that representative goes to Westminster to represent an area. So it's comparatively easy for a joke politician to become an MP - not that it's ever happened (…well - not unaffiliated jokes anyway…) There are one or two independents

You make a flawed assumption there:

Well they vaguely justified that in universe, the similarity between the brothers made the doppelganger cons possible.

The average conspiracy theory involves the US government though. Shouldn't Trump have received his dossier about the aliens and the chemtrails and global warming and 9/11 when he took office?

Is it possible to remain a conspiracy theorist after you've become President of America? I mean, where do you think the conspiracy ends?

You are aware who the president actually is right? Even if you think Trump is going to achieve something you agree with at some point, in what way is he more "likeable" than Underwood? At least Underwood mostly puts on an amiable face in front of the media/public…

If you live in the UK, Anthony Stewart Head becomes less of a draw.

As I said further down the thread, I think next season will be a full "war series" that includes the scenes from the flashbacks which went nowhere this season.

The fact that the war flashback went nowhere this season is a surefire sign that next season will be "Archer: Dreamwar" right? Not with that title though - that's shit. But for my money they've blatantly set that up so that it can be the next dreamstate Archer drifts into.

This was weird. I think I liked the season as a whole - but it didn't really feel like Archer for much of the run time. Maybe a bit in the middle, after the set up and before the descent into darkness.

I love the Fifth Element, and this looks at least as pretty. The prettiness is helped by Dane Dehaan who I find weirdly attractive (or at least 'attractive in a weird way'). I can understand that being a minority position though.

Yeah - short of getting the President impeached by 2020 I highly doubt that a Democratic House would stop the news cycle being dominated by the man-baby Republican(ish) President. Any backlash against him is likely to continue and intensify whilst he's in office.

Yeah - but how does she know that if she dies she won't come back to life, if she hasn't died and not come back to life?

It's very hard to tell in that picture. The "cassette player" bit of the bag looks less crumpled than the rest of the bag so it might be a different bit. This whole idea would make way more sense to me if that bit could be peeled off. Not a lot of sense… but way more.

Wait I've seen this episode! Someone built a parallel universe transportation device, but there was an accident and it exploded. Now all the possible universes are bleeding together, starting with the ones like ours but getting more and more extraordinary…

I don't understand how they do this but I'm up for it! But Nazi Fitz isn't just some AI version of a "Fitz gone wrong". He's the actual real Fitz. I don't know how you'd get Nazi Fitz out of the machine as the full Hydra version, and then also get normal Fitz to come to his senses and leave the machine with his old

I know that was a joke, but they're probably gonna charge about £10 for this piece of shit - still got to pay for the music you're purchasing!
