Everyone knows about Apple's tricky charging circuitry ;) , but most new Motorola phones require a trigger circuit at the adapter to start charging, period. HTC and LG phones have always been pretty liberal. I think BlackBerry requires 750mA or greater, but will take up to 1200mA. Samsung phones will charge at 1A if

Being a 19-year-old, this did come to mind.

Not too long ago, I did put a laptop cooler in my cabinet - for the hell of it. No heat issues, just a preventative measure. It's powered by the USB port on my Comcast DVR box. If anyone would advise against that, let me know.

I was born in 1994, my first PC experience was an IBM Aptiva 2137, AMD K6 powered. 65MB RAM, 3.5GB hard drive. Windows 95. I was introduced to it in late 1997 with games. We went to Staples once a month and both my sister and I got to pick out a new game. All I ever did was insert the CD and let autorun take over.

My old HP iPaqs came with Nevo's universal remote that took advantage of the built-in infrared beam. Of course, Windows devices don't get the same attention anymore - but I did miss that feature. And until now, I had no idea Android could do direct IR.

When our office got new color AIO copiers a few years back, someone tried to photocopy a $20 note out of curiosity. The machine shut off immediately, and the police showed up within the next half hour. I don't know whether it signaled over the fax line or through IP connectivity.

I replaced my WRT54g V1.0 (powered by DD-WRT) with a Linksys E1200 (a refurb, about $10 on Black Friday) and I've noticed significant results, even on devices restricted by 802.11g.

Digestive aid was my first thought (think Activia). A Google search (Google US) produces GM's Fleet & Commercial site as the second result, so it must be their economic solution for business. Can't complain, but the styling doesn't remind me of the stereotypical "American" car. Might just be my mindset in

The news clip states first that the drivers are accused of racing. After that, they say that the drivers are caught racing. Maybe that's irrelevant, but which one is it? I remember in junior high (8 years ago) the buses didn't have cruise control or a speed limiter. I watched the drivers speed up to 65 in a 55, but

An inexpensive quick fix might be to insulate the pipes

This was a good analogy for me, hope it's suited for you guys as well!

I parked next to one a few weeks back (first time I'd ever seen one in the US) and I just couldn't get my head around the name of it.

Thankfully you pointed this out before I had to..

...And everybody knows the IT department would have otherwise spent that $50,000 wisely..

"Home Mod" ... "Life Hack"

I think Eat Wisconsin Cheese is the first site to ever let me enter in my full 9 digit zip code..

I've seen this unmarked bad boy a few times here in Illinois. I've also seen the F-150 (DNR conservation police), Durango, Ram, Malibu, Civilian Impala, Explorer, Expidition, Escape, Taurus PPV, and Crown Vic as squad cars.

I suppose that's why MiTAC Digital Corporation markets their GPS solutions as Magellan, rather than Columbus!

The web GUI command center we use is strictly IE-only, it's now 11 years old.

A Windows 2000-based computer runs reports for some of our test equipment (that's Windows CE-based) and prints via parallel port to an inkjet printer. It works and all, but...still..
