That Alexis/Cracker drama felt like a poorly-outlined improv sketch. With each actor giving a half-assed performance because they don’t like the roles that were assigned to them by shady producers promising more screen time. Then again, I wouldn’t like those roles, either.

But Jujubee was the star of the episode, which would have been a C (at best) without her. I really want her to win the entire thing at this point...which probably means she won’t. Bah!

This season feels very weirdly overproduced, and it’s taken away alot of the rough edges that make the regular series so very compelling. I think Gigi’s great, but her performances were far too static for me and I didn’t feel much emotion come through the songs. During the split-screen action, my eyes continually drifted toward Jaida and, surprisingly, Crystal.

Aiden really has improved throughout this season both with her looks and her confidence. I think we’d be in for quite a surprise if she does make it onto an AS season.

Gigi essentially disappeared in the finale. She didn’t do poorly with the lip-syncs, but both Crystal — and especially Jaida — better understood just how different the dynamic of a static camera is to a studio-recorded performance, and their performances showed that. I get what you’re saying (written), but the days of the classic bitchfests of seasons 2 and 4 happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
