Like I’m going to wash my hands after lowering a seat lid ain’t no one got time for that. I could shove it down with my elbow but then I’d have to wash my hands up to my elbows. I could use my foot but then I’d fall down and go into premature labor and our baby will be special needs. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT

And THAT’S what I love about Girl Scouts.

They fucking brought it BACK, in my state. Every day. Every school.

You’re fooling yourself if you think poo particles aren’t all around you anyway.

The reason the seat goes down and the lid stays up is because when one sits on a toilet, one plays Candy Crush. If I have to touch the seat with my hand to move it, it becomes gross to touch my phone immediately afterward.

So... homecoming dance?

Yeah same here except I lost it over the train whistles and my poor husband was already on high emo alert

I think feminism is more about the context around the choices you make rather than the choices themselves. Choosing to stay at home and raise kids isn’t a “feminist” choice in the same way choosing to work while your husband raises kids is, because the second choice is currently not societally encouraged or supported

Idiot, it’s BECAUSE I’ve been following BCO since its inception that I have this “sympathetic protagonist” heuristic. Trout can compile the posts like he wants, and the rest of us can offer advice that he can choose to adopt or ignore.

Usually the people who send the e-mails are clearly protagonists, so from experience, we all probably expect that your posting their story is an endorsement of their actions. Might be worth an ed. note if you find one email particularly unsympathetic but too bizarre not to include.

Oh, and on the topic of ed. notes? If

As angry as I am about the post from hell being approved in the first place, it’s admirable how he seems to be the only one directly assuming responsibility for it, and standing up for Sargent.

Free will is still an open philosophical question.

Institutionalization after a guilty verdict should be for the purpose of treatment and protecting the public, not punishment.

For me, it’s more like... “To what extent is a man fully responsible for his behavior?” is an academic question. I don’t care WHY he killed people or that he gets more or fewer slaps on the wrist, I just want him in a position where he can’t hurt anybody else in the future.

I used to do this. I did it because I had done it several times and never got to the point where I was addicted, and I enjoyed the nicotine buzz and probably the stupid rebellious looking mystique bullshit. I STILL have never heard studies explicitly suggesting that occasional smoking like that is dangerous in the

What would the difference be if he WASN’T found guilty, though? Not to say I think he’s “insane,” but, would he not still be under lock and key his whole life to protect society from him?

I think it’s one where you’re intentionally keeping your upper face muscles relaxed because you don’t believe enough of what you say to care about anything you say.

Maybe if the text said, “please slip a quaalude into my drink and anally penetrate me tonight while I’m unconscious,” I would see where you’re coming from.

Someone explain to me how this isn’t hilarious

But what you just said was EVEN WORSE THAN WHAT WE THOUGHT YOU SAID SCOTT
