there is some point in that an error occurred in hiring if they’re gone in under 6 months. But basic stuff like tardiness doesn’t usually come up in interviews at that level. You can work with someone and put them on a plan but at some point you need to make a difficult decision.

I treat this as one of my STAR stories,

if you’re asking why the position is open you’re asking that.

did you ever misinterpret something about an assignment? “I gave an A+ answer to the wrong question” is always good start.

Tried it last night and it went 4 for 6, it didn’t figure out a ‘60s pop song (though it may have been a cover) nor a Bedouin Sounclash song.

Grey water is something I’ve considered but couldn’t make it work at our house economically. Which is annoying because I have enough elevation and one drain for kitchen / dishwasher / washer / dryer.

Fair point, full loads are important. Obviously running a dishwasher was one plate is foolish. It’s rare that I’d run it at less than 90% full.

Is there an calendar/app that I can set to notify me when the appointment is going to end? I pick up my kids from their activities but usually don’t drive them there, so I want the notification to trigger based on the end of the appointment.

most newer dishwashers use less water than doing the dishes by hand. We run the machine nightly but we’re two adults and two teens, so much more to do than 2 adults.

I have the Lenovo stick PC and its just great as a HTPC. Netflix, basic browsing, YouTube etc. While Chrome has advantages on low power devices I just don’t need one more OS in my life, especially something that limits usability. A Windows PC will work with my existing NAS and printers and family.

have a notebook/notepad and occasionally take some notes. At the tail end of the interview when they ask “do you have any questions?”, ask a question that’s based on the notes you took.

FWIW I/we use Astra Platinum blades which are $14/100 pack here in Canada. I got her a $18 handle online and bought myself a few ‘nicer’ stainless steel handles for $40 a piece. Still cheaper than any disposable system that I’ve seen.

roommate =/= wife

my wife avoids the gender tax simply by using my stuff without asking me.

I always ask the range for any job early on in the conversation. Titles are misleading but salaries are usually pretty indicative of the seniority of the role.

four door wagons would be ideal

glad I don’t work in tax,

that ‘dancer’s body’ comes from hours a week of dancing. My kid has 7 hours of classes and ran the boys in rep hockey into the floor a month ago when she led the phys ed class warm-up.

Financial sales would be something I’d like to do but I’m too scared to do.

it can be easier to transition earlier in your career, but it is doable later on. That’s why I highlighted my work experience.
