the 615 is even cheaper at best buy.

Wait till the “Boycott Blazer” campaign gets going, GM will lose a lot from it.
LOL, what Truck gets 50 miles per gallon? You are insane.
That’s not the problem. GM wanted to sell the Blazer for less money in south america, the only way to do that is lower the cost by making it in Mexico, which has the side effect of making MORE money in the US.
No, it’s not. You’re wrong. The expensive part is what the quality of the current paint system is. Everything else really isn’t a thing.
Are you saying GM didn’t see small car sales tanking at the same time they saw they needed capacity to build the Blazer? You really are ignorant of how it works. GM could have built the Blazer in Ohio, and started working on doing that instead of working on doing it in Mexico, and the cost difference would have been…
Boycott Blazer.
How much is it going to cost GM when the “boycott Blazer” campaign kills sales?
GM made a couple billion dollars in profit last quarter, they can more than afford to lock stock and barrel move an entire production line from Mexico to Ohio. Can they afford to have people in the US stop buying there product even more?
The Blazer is built on the same platform as the built in Tennesee Acadia. They could have built it there.
GM didn’t do that, the US federal government did it by giving them a loan.
If people get upset enough once GM moves all it’s manufacturing OUT of the USA that people stop buying GM, but instead by the Mercedes built in the US, or the BMW built in the US or the Honda built in the US, how is that helping GM once they go under?
LOL, that’s not what happened. They built in in China because they can make double the profit over building it in the USA.
LOL, you act like it’s impossible to “clean” an old plant up.
And when most of her shareholders are US citizens and institutional buyers, and they turn against her because she couldn’t come up with a way to keep this news from being a disaster to sales, what then?
It wouldn’t be billions..
That’s not what most of us are saying. Most of us are saying this gives us another reason to not buy a GM vehicle next time. If enough people decide to do that because of GMs decision, how much longer do you suppose they will be selling less and less vehicles in the US?
It’s like $200 to $300 dollars per car difference now. As the living expenses in those other countries go up, they become less competitive with building here. TV manufacturers already assemble large screen TVs here because they are too expensive to ship as completed units from China.
So you’re saying that people would just suck it up and not buy any cars if GM had gone under? That Ford, Toyota, and every other car maker wouldn’t have seen sales increase in proportion to the lost car sales from a defunct GM?
