LOL, you are way over simplifying this, so much so, you’re wrong.

They could have built the Blazer on the same line as the Acadia, in Tennessee.. It’s built on the same platform. Capacity had nothing to do with building it in Mexico, profits where the only reason.
All the 2 party system does is get rid of the out of party horse trading other countries have.
Um, no. Spending tons of money on useless electric cars is not helping, and not needed.
GM had 2.3 billion in profit in the 3rd quarter. It wouldn’t cost but a few tens of millions to move production. So you’re wrong, they can afford it. Especially since Trump changed the depreciation of capital expenditures. ESPECIALLY since they got a HUGE TAX CUT at the start of the year.
Or, GM could ship the production line for the Blazer from Mexico to Ohio and hire tax paying americans?
Why would they build it in the US? Because it’s made on the same platform being built in Tennessee right now. They could have put it there.
GM paid back nothing. The government “bought” New GM stock, then didn’t hold it till they could sell it and make their money back. It was the Government’s fault for not waiting another 24 months, when they could have actually been paid back by selling the stock at it’s high.
The Blazer is built on the Acadia platform. Which is built in Tennessee.
LOL, you don’t know what you’re talking about. GM was this close to building the CT6 in China and importing it back to the US when they started it’s production. They said they would make DOUBLE the profit from a CT6 built in China vs one built in the USA.
LOL, seriously, you don’t know what you’re talking about. A little googling will show you how wrong you are. Start with “Pontiac”. Thanks.
GM was going to build the Cruze in China after the bail out. When congress went nuts, they put it in the US instead. I would say GM paid back that by employing quite a few US citizens. Meanwhile Ford was making the competitor in Mexico.
Nice 1990 Dakota you made there.
Then, let’s kill it, and 7 years later develop an all new engine with the exact same specs! No wonder GM can’t make money..
The one sold at Chevy dealerships will be the “manta-ray”. The ones being sold at Cadillac will be the “RD1". So far, no word on Buick getting one in the USA, but maybe it will sell a Buick one in China?
I thought the Ciel looked awesome, then I saw this picture and realized, it was in fact never going to be built with doors like this and a jump-over-it entry.
People completely forget that Show Cars usually have to change massively thanks to real world thing like Crash worthiness, and manufacturability.
I would wait for the CT8 if I where you... Just saying.
In 40 years I can guarantee you no car shows will be “restoring” a “classic escalade”.
All the Cien needs to update it would be a few small changes to the front.
