I know. I somehow managed to be productive at work AND found time to make my dumb DadJokes. At least the other sites will still be around!

From what I can tell and have read, the regular commenting platform will stay as it is, as Kinja was part of the Univision deal. Gawker, the website, will be no longer after next week. Gawker Media however, which includes Jezebel, Kotaku, Deadspin, Io9 and others will continue under the Univision umbrella.

Go to Jezebel: an even better distraction since most of the celebrity lunacy ends up there.

I truly hope this community of real decent, funny, and intelligent family of writers and commentators is allowed to exist untouched. To be honest, I’m kind of devastated Gawker won’t be around for the election. I feel like I’ve been with them through the trenches in terms of their coverage over the last year and a half, and I was very much looking forward to Nov. 8th on Gawker. NOW IT’S BEEN TAKEN FROM US :( :( :(
