If I was forced to keep the stock wheels on either of my cars I wouldn’t have bought them. And that’s a super silly reason to not buy a car that otherwise meets all your criteria

It’s a 30 minute job, the problem is, most dealerships run on teams, and if you’re splitting .5 hours flat rate between 3 people there’s zero incentive to be careful or take your time. I’m a technician as well but I get paid hourly so I can do a better job and not have to worry about time as much

I hate dealer service centers. Avoid at all costs

Form following function can be quite beautiful

Better off for it. Got my drivers side airbag replaced and who ever did the install messed up the leather on my steering wheel. 6 little cuts that definitely weren’t there before and they bother the hell out of me

I’ve only had good experiences. The last time I had any interaction with a dealer they let me test drive a 16 Mustang GT over a weekend. Put 300 miles on it and beat the absolute shit out of that car. Didn’t end up buying it though

They’re pretty underrated when it comes to the enthusiast community

I laughed too hard at ‘cup of meat’. A star for you

What? No, you consented to driving an unsafe car. Just like you can’t sue Nissan for getting injured in a crash in your 74 260z, you bought an old car with lax safety standards

Ugh if someone made that a crate motor I would drop it in my mustang so hard.

The township next to where I live is a little more affluent, and there are so many XE’s running around

Enough control to turn the ABS off and not lock the brakes up

Holy throttle inputs batman! The Xbox controller has a trigger that’s pretty sensitive, it’s not an on/off switch

Yep. And replace the cat immediately following. Rev it as you turn it off and always let her get warm and hit redline once or twice

If you’re not opposed to some work, there are a few reliability mods you can do that will keep the engine in one piece. It’s not far fetched to hear about some 180,000 mile renesis engines

It’s fine to call 80% of vehicles sold units. Hell, depending on your preference, there are very few modern cars that evoke the feelings and emotions a classic sports car (240z, TR6, even an NA Miata) can.

Exactly. Thank you lol

Just don’t get a 560 SL. I hate that V8 with a passion having had to work on it multiple times across a few vehicles

It’s a shame. Not surprising though. Regardless, no matter what Toyota/BMW create it’s not gonna be good enough. It’s gonna be too slow, too heavy, lacking feel etc etc

Take in mind I work in a shop and cars don’t come to me unless they’re broken. That being said I’ve seen 3 different cars with fuel pump issues
