Is it? I thought it was still a government agency but with Lex in charge.

It would have taken months minimum for her to learn passable unaccented English. I sucked at French after two semesters. Home schooling makes less sense than Marlon Brando’s ghost. The show should have handwaved it long ago.
After Lena tried to mind control the entire human race pretty much any one’s horse who didn’t stands fairly tall. Not hard to see.
I was a Legion fan in the silver and early bronze age and I have no idea where the "manipulative dicks" comment comes from. Could you clarify that?
But is "forgive and forget" really the smart thing given what Lena tried to do? If they're going for anything remotely credible it's going to take a while for Kara to come around.
As soon as I heard Alex becoming a vigilante I thought of Guardian. You'd think they would have learned from James. And since the DEO is a government agency its destruction wouldn't be any kind of expense for Lex. I think he was just showing how little he cares about wasting someone else's money.
On one hand they remembered English isn’t Kara’s first language. On the other they’ve previously shown her speaking it fluently her first day of Earth school. On the third hand, they’ve also shown her being a slacker in high school, where she would have begun learning the intricacies of English beyond the basics.
My usual random thoughts:
One recurring antagonist was Lex’s niece, Nasthalthia but that role is more-or-less taken by Lena. It seems like we get a different enemy each season.
Since the Fortress is, you know, secret and off limits to most folks, it would seem more appropriate to have a "white list" of people who are allowed. Not sure how it would be defended against teleportation or wormholes or whatever Lena used though. But, again, the plot required Lena to get into the Fortress and…
Oh, puhlease. Nia wasn’t even in this episode so it was easy to overlook her. No sinister motive required.
I think it’s probably a bit of both. Mainly Lex hating Kryptonians on principle but a certain amount of “You’re supposed to be on my team!”
I also hope we’ll continue to see Cryer’s Lex on the Clark/Lois show. I don’t remember who Supergirl’s main antagonist was in the comics (she fought both Luthor and Brainiac but they remained Superman villains) but I wouldn’t mind seeing Morgan Edge return. Too bad Max Lord is gone.
I dunno. I thought the flashback helped remind me of what had gone before and helped set the stage for what's coming.
Because if she had there would be no story. You really need to stop expecting good writing, based on credible actions and motivations.
Just MHO but Cryer is a much better Lex than Hackman, and I say this as a fan of Hackman. As for assuming people know stuff, the comics used to make references to stuff that happened decades ago and at best you'd get a footnote telling what issue it happened in. I do agree it's probably challenging for casual viewers.
If Alex hears Eve’s side first (i.e., being manipulated first by Obsidian and then by Lex) that might make a difference. It's not like neither Alex nor Kara has never done anything regrettable.
But if Lena saw through Lex’s B.S. right away there wouldn’t be any story. You can’t let people behaving out of character stand in the way of a good story, ya know.
B. C. officialdom is talking mid May but they're proceeding cautiously. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nationalpost.com/news/canada/reopening-canada-provinces-ontario-quebec-saskatchewan-alberta/amp
