What I don't get is how the government knows about Lena's research in the first place. AFAIK, the only other people who know are Eve and James.

Kara was supposed to be 24 when the series premiered and we know they were in high school together, which means they’re 3 years apart max. Since we’re in season 4, assuming things are happening in something like real time Kara is 28 and Alex is maybe 31. But the timeline has been a mess from the beginning.

It was specifically mentioned that they'd been on two dates. And I can't speak for Alex but some of us get the big stuff out of the way up front. I got told on a first date that she wasn't looking for anything serious. We ended up getting married, LOL.

My thought when it started "raining" was, ""Why isn't anything short circuiting?"

I remember watching The Flintstones as a kid and hearing the theme song. There’s a line that goes:

They could have had her say something like “It’s usually passed down to women,” and “It's fairly rare. On average it affects one member of a family in each generation," and everything would have been fine.

Granted, Naltorians look human but there would have to be *really* extreme jealousy and *really* clouded judgment. Not saying this show wouldn't go there but I'd want a very well developed foundation, which I don't think these writers would be capable of establishing.

And just how would inherited powers be “passed on through adoption"? At that point we're well and truly into the realm of magic.

While there are ways for Nia to have biological children (cloning, sperm donation), it might be a good idea to think of Nura as her “distant relative,” rather than her “descendant.” That eliminates the necessity of Nia having children.

Current TVs usually have closed captioning and I often use it to be sure of the dialogue. I can't always understand either.

My usual random thoughts:

Originally in the comics Dream Girl would have prophetic dreams but narcolepsy wasn’t an issue. A couple of episodes ago we saw that Nia was able to predict other people's moves in a fight. But they need to deal with the narcolepsy issue, otherwise she'll be falling asleep at inopportune times. I can envision a

Why would half alien Maeve join a group whose foundation is hatred of aliens?

Yeah, I was hoping for a Nia+Brainy costume design montage like the one from the Pilot.

I initially assumed she was going to pick up the car and I was a little disappointed they used the same reveal as they did in the Pilot.

Since we know Nia is getting a costume, is anyone else hoping for a costume design montage with her and Brainy like the one with Kara and Winn from the Pilot? I think it'd be fun.

One example would be Lena, who has her own enemies already and is a friend of Kara but not Supergirl. If the wrong people knew Kara=Supergirl they could come after Lena who, as formidable as she is, isn’t invulnerable.

Secret identities are simply a part of the superhero genre. Sure, there’s usually someone who knows but those people tend to be relatively few. Anyway, we saw what happened when Cat found out; she was going to fire Kara “for her own good,” so she could be Supergirl full time. Deceiving her was necessary. The point is

“Everyone” doesn’t know. There are a number of people who do but they pale into insignificance compared with the population of even a medium sized town. More to the point, *bad guys* don’t know, people who would love to have leverage on Supergirl. Beyond that, Haley’s “That’s a nice lookin' family ya got. Be a shame
