The shield’s apparent weight bugged me too, unless they’re emphasizing how weak and out of shape Winn is. The fight with Reign was short because it was a red herring to make us think the Reign problem was solved. J’onn “came out” publicly as a Martian back in season 1. Grocery store owner’s wife isn’t a supervillain,

I was way more bugged by the obvious way he kept checking his comm. Nothing says “setup” like someone obviously wearing a wire.

If Kara hadn’t spent 12 years in the Phantom Zone she’d be in her late 30's, nowhere near 50. And since Kryptonians age slower than Earth folks she wouldn’t look it anyway. Mom would be in her 60's, maybe 70, depending on how old she was when Kara was born.

“Sorry, no, random stranger, even though my child is sick and I have no way to make him better, I won’t let you use your medical device.” Is that better?

“Worldkiller”is kinda hard to depict though. Unless she’s hurling asteroids at Earth from space or causing earthquakes or tsunami it’s hard to affect large areas. Even a nuke affects a relatively small area compared to an entire continent.

The timeline has always been a mess but Clark should be in his late 30's, which gives us a clue how long it’s been since Krypton was destroyed. If Mom was 30 or so when Kara was born she should be around 70 now.

As usual, my random thoughts:

I figure she’s a well preserved 70, assuming she was 30 or so when Kara was born.

The lack of age difference was explained at the beginning of last season: Kryptonians age slower than us.

The timeline has been a mess from the beginning but it’s mainly that they cast the actress before this episode was written and then just ignored the age thing.

Last season Clark mentioned that Kryptonians age more slowly than Earth people. Mom is probably around 70 in Earth years.

Not Kandor, Argo City.

There was a moment in Lois & Clark when Clark was talking to his parents and he referred to Superman in the third person. His dad freaked out about it.

Yeah, it’s not like someone who fights evil for a living would carry a first aid kit in case someone got hurt.

Ruby didn’t call her mom because Alex “screwed up,” she called because she was stupid. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out she electrocuted herself once after her mom told her not to stick her fingers in an electric outlet.

The easiest way to get out of the greys is to follow the party line. For example, trash Kara and act like Lena is without fault. Posts that buck the trend tend to stay grey.

Yeah, because the normal response to someone who has saved your life multiple times is to say, “You’ve never been my friend. I don’t even like you.”

It really wouldn’t take much radiation if it were distinctive enough. The main problem is that there are no star systems five light years from Earth. Ten maybe but not five.

Wait, Supergirl is moving to Sunday nights? Because that’s when Charmed is scheduled.

No, “she’s acted shitty to Lena about her having Kryptonite” because Lena kept it a secret. J’onn was open with Clark about having it. As I’ve posted before, Lena said she doesn’t think about Supergirl when she’s developing anti-Kryptonian tech, even though there are only three Kryptonians on Earth, counting Reign.
