He’s rolled his sleeves back here to placate everyone who thought the OUTSIDE of that shirt was the ugliest thing they’ve ever seen.

Interesting that two guys would be killed at the same time—indicates either an equipment malfunction for both of them, or they planned the route wrong and basically flew into a rock wall?

When I was making my way through grad school (English lit, natch), I was friends with a bunch of poetry MFA students, and heard a TON of horrible stories about her. A TON. So trust me, you are hardly alone.

Seriously, who believes that the NFL will lose ANY ratings due to shenanigans like the ones the Patriots pulled? C’mon, now.

I hate the whole “[celebrity] gets paid so much more than [non-celebrity profession], they should be happy” argument. Of course the people saying that would lose their shit if you pointed out how much more they make than some guy spending 18 hours/day in a sweatshop in Bangladesh, and so they should stop asking their

I’m trying—and failing—to think of a movie in the past five years that I’ve really wanted to see primarily because of the trailer that did not let me down. Glad to hear this one might break the streak.

Did police pull over the wrong car? Yes
Will they admit it? No
Will they claim they intended to pull over the incorrect car for reasons that were not captured on film? Do you really need to ask that question?

I think in the world that most of us inhabit, having your contract not renewed is the same thing as being fired. But in the world of Bill Simmons, where both sides are negotiating on a hefty 7 figure salary plus god knows what other perks, I think contract non-renewals aren’t quite the same. It’s more a recognition

Easily one of my favorite scenes from any show, ever.

Hope I’m not the only person who literally gripped his chair for security while watching that video. Gah.

I’m with you. I travel a lot for work, and anytime I stay in a hotel and my room is higher than the 10th floor, I look out the window *from a distance* but I don’t get within 3 feet of it to look down.

My guess is he either goes fully independent, or signs with an out-of-left field company that wants to establish a new presence in live sports programming in order to bring eyeballs to some other product it wants to launch, something like Netflix or Apple.

Honest question here since I haven’t read the report: does it say that Brady conspired to deflate the balls below the allowable threshold? Or did he simply make it known that he liked balls to be less deflated rather than more deflated, and the equipment guys took it upon themselves to do it?

I agree with you. Sadly, this “can’t we do both?” thinking doesn’t seem to be that much of a popular trend in American politics these days.

There are vast swaths of the American public that will NEVER comply with such a system because it interferes with our vehicle-as-personal-freedom model of thinking, esp. in the American west. Just think how such a centralized system of vehicle transportation could be open to government interference. Huge protests in a

I think that automation will result in fewer jobs overall, thus increasing profits for the super rich. But everyone else will still be expected to work a 6 day, 80 hour week for meager wages. Victory! :) :) :)

People really have no idea how hard/impossible it is to get information out of a bank about a transaction. For example, I used to work for a small college, raising money, and we would frequently get transfers of stock. Awesome! However, unless the person giving us the stock told us about it, we had no idea who had

I’m guessing that notification is buried somewhere deep on their disclosures page. If this type of fraud is relatively common, they should put the disclaimer on EVERY page. But, that would then reveal that there is an element of fraud inherent to airbnb, and of course they want to avoid that.

Amen to that! The 5 was not enough of an upgrade for me, and I was psyched for the 6, but...daaaaaaamn that price.

The pit stains add to his “everyman” persona.
