I live in Maryland, and Hogan isn’t bad. He’s the old school fiscal conservative. Not that I voted for him. Republicanism is an evil that taints all. If he were independent, I might think about it.
Somebody suggested registering as a Republican to vote for him (or any other non-Trump nominee) in the primary. Of course, then you’d vote for the Democrat in the general election. I’m not sure I could live with myself as a registered Republican, though.
