Eh, you can still only buy the Foundation Edition with the extra $20k cost. As soon as Tesla opens up purchasing to the $79,999 model sales will increase 10x.

It wont take long to fill this niche and sales drop like a rock. It is priced way higher than it was supposed to, has much less range, and is turning out to be built like crap. Resale is already below MSRP and will continue to go down fast.
Bigger question how much damage was done by NASA back in the 60s when they were trying to launch rockets?
“And, maybe, someone can once again build a spaceship that actually works.”
Perhaps, but modern EVs use liquid cooling rather than passive air cooling like on brake rotors.
Doesn’t that just move the heat management to the battery though? There is still heat being generated by regen brakes, it’s just not at the rotors and pads.
Hybrid vehicles and to a greater extent electric vehicles use little to no friction braking, because they make use of motor resistance to recharge the battery (“regen brakes”). The brakes may be identical, but they just won’t heat up as much because they won’t be used as much. I can do my whole 25 mile each way suburba…
Also clean you’re wheels and brakes off before going to a place with big hills
Most vehicle fires here happen because brakes overheat going down steep grades.
I think its that in 60 years we have gone from astronauts basically being test pilots who are doing dangerous stuff and at times end up dead and that was acceptable at the time. To now astronauts being bus drivers and scientists and “none of them better end up dead as the American voter does not like dead astronauts”.
They updated the autopilot software so it will undock and attempt a return to earth.
Actually, those two are very experienced astronauts. All astronauts used for test missions, such as this one, have a lot of experience under their belt. For them this is simply something that is part of their jobs, doesn’t matter really as this is exactly what they signed up for - at 58 and 61 yrs of age, these are…
Except for Space X - this is great for them
In 60 years we’ve gotten worse at building reliable space vehicles, even with major issues Apollo 13 was able to return to earth. The sad thing is this isn’t some novel high tech issue with a fancy compter going haywire, this is literally just keeping the contents of a plumbing system inside of the system which we had …
Even if you show them data that it’s decreasing, they’ll just say “well, Obama is just doing this temporarily to help get Kamala elected”.
Wait. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard every Trump voter I meet telling me that gas prices are at an all-time high, and the only way to get them back down again is if he’s back in office.
How’s he going to react when he finds out gunpowder was invented by the Chinese? Does that make his guns ‘woke’? Is he going to have to drown them? (I’d suggest blowing them up but I’m pretty sure the proto-hominids who discovered fire would not have been considered ‘white’.)
So on their list of possible VPs, this is the best they went with? Who were the others, Beavis, Butthead, and Spongebob?
It’s not a hydrogen bomb unless it comes from the hydrogen region of the American military industrial complex. Otherwise it’s just a bomb with hydrogen in it.
Nope. Just a C4 bomb with hydrogen as an accelerant. Most bombs would be “Oxygen Bombs” by your logic.
