The navy taught sailors to step off and drop like a pencil, feet-first holding your hand over your face. That way your feet break the water first. Might end up with some broken bits but you’ll be alive.

The fall alone, from the height of that ship it’d be like hitting concrete.

I don’t cruise, but have watched enough travel videos from those who do to understand that the design of modern cruise ships make it VERY hard to just “fall”. Every railing, ledge, balcony, etc. is at least chest-high for an average-sized adult - some are more than head-high.  The conclusion they all point to is that

Instead of the Envista Avenir, I came home with a Trax Activ.  I would have liked some of the added features of the Buick, but much prefer the station-wagon profile of the Chevy.  It has proven to be a solid car.

It’s a non intuitive fact that tiny engines do not get the best highway mpg. C&D got 32mpg on their 75mph run test. Their test of a 24 Corolla which has a 2 liter four got 40 mpg, with the all wheel drive model. Which takes us to why the tiny engine. Sure, packaging and cost. ....a used small SUV...

Nicest truck I’ve ever drove. Towed with it about 100 miles round trip. However I’ll never own one because two reasons - I don’t need something that large or that expensive. Ultimately bought a small electric SUV and it's wonderful.

Taking a swim is good exercise and an excellent way to get Fit.

I don’t know what’s worse. Out of shape cops who would just go ahead and shoot you since there’s no way they can catch you, or beefcake cops who will stand on your neck in a roid rage 🤔

if only they could come to an accord of some sort.  can’t we all get along?

These people are not very civic minded.

In a few years? The used bolt market is pretty great with all the rebates right now.

Think longer term.

Last year we bought a ‘22 Chevy Bolt EV, and liked it so much that earlier this year we replaced it with a ‘23 Chevy Bolt EUV. To me, the biggest mistake Chevy is making is cancelling the Bolt and pushing all customers up to the Blazer EV (which starts at $49K).

Now playing

The folks behind a show called “Trackdown” did a harsh sendup of Fred Trump in this 1958 episode:

As much as I like Seb Stan it’s so questionable to cast an actor that hot as Trump. Kinda reminds me of Evan Peter’s playing Hot Dahmer.

Most rich people don’t want to be all that famous. They want to be left alone to spend their money and wield their influence without attracting attention. Especially the attention of State’s Attorneys and special prosecutors.

Must be, Ron DeSantis keeps getting elected. There is your pile of festering flesh right there.

Was going to go with generic gif of a flamethrower but since this is Jalopnik. . .
