Oh boy are you about to be disappointed. Not only have I now written about counterweights, but I’ve also written about blue anodized wheel cylinders:

Now playing

It’s all these laws Biden and the executive branch pass!!!! Just like before when people were mad at Trump for the laws he wrote or earlier when they hated Obamas laws.     Just kidding.

Riveting, Pulitzer caliber writing from Jalopnik these days. Articles about counterweights like they are magical wizardry, bloggers copying other bloggers so they can take a trip to “Click City.”  This is what Jalopnik has become. Its funny how you can tell a good Jalopnik blogger..they dont work for Jalopnik anymore

I’d be shocked if it wasn’t a Range Rover or Denali/Escalade.

Can we please acknowledge the fairly strong possibility that this guy’s DD is probably something completely awesome? Let the wild speculation begin!
Maybe it’s a Raptor or TRX... nah, his quoted 13-15 MPG is way to high for either of those. GLS63 AMG? V8 powered X7? E63 wagon? There are tons of sick cars that have big

Likely he “has” to have a SUV because of the 6000 GVWR rule for businesses.

Eh.. gonna be blunt here. There’s a moment where stockholm syndrome and trauma doesn’t exactly... well... help you make good decisions.

Could it be that many Jalopnik commenters hate everything?

However, I feel bad for Max because he should have already won this title a couple of races ago if it wasn’t for a blown tire, questionable crash with Hamilton at Silverstone, and Bottas crashing into and damaging both Red Bulls at the start of the that following race.

F1 needs a Max. Otherwise we get bland little robots who’ve been molded into exactly what F1 wants them to be, such as Ocon, Gio, Mick, Botas, LeClerc, Botas, etc. All great drivers no doubt, but with personalities and risk tolerance equal to a wet paper towel.

I didn’t get that people hated Max until the last race, where he could have gone over the line. Before that, it seemed that everyone hated Hamilton.

Stockholm syndrome is a real thing.

In the back. You can put a dog in the back. Can’t do that in a Corolla. There’s about twice the space behind the rear seats as a Corolla trunk. Rear seats down and you could probably fit a washing machine in there. Much bigger than anything you’d ever get into a Corolla sedan.

Well, the Sienna and Venza command higher prices. I briefly owned a 2021 Venza Limited, and it came out to about $43K, for a package that was less practical and slightly less efficient than its RAV4 Hybrid cousin...but that did generally have the ambiance and materials quality of a Lexus.

Probably more like cost/price-point and cannibalization issues.  They’ll happily get buyers into RAV4 Hybrids for $1,500 more than a Corolla Cross Hybrid would sell for.

I actually like the Corolla Cross. There’s something inherently cool about a vehicle that is unashamedly utilitarian and ‘fit for purpose’. It gets good gas mileage. It has room to haul things and a hatch. It’s a safe, and not unpleasant place to spend time. And it appeals to what daily drivers want - a slightly

You can get mega money ($$) for your used car only because it’s going to cost you super-mega-money ($$$$) for the new car you’re eyeballing.

This price is the “We aren’t ready to sell it” price.

Sure, you can go to a dealer and order a car from the factory. If you do be sure you have a signed sales contract in hand stipulating the final price and be prepared to wait months and months for it. Because, you know, chip shortage.

I’m almost angrier about a $500 N2 fill than a $40,000 markup.
