Current Hertz employee here. Contrary to popular belief these are probably the best taken care of used rentals you can buy. Unless something went really wrong at some point, these aren’t getting into the hands of the weekend traveler who reserved a Yaris, they’re being rented by people who actually are willing to fork Read more

Or how about toyota put a prime powertrain in there with 300hp, a plug and call it a day? Oh yeah...and people would get the phev tax credit(up to $7500). AWD, phev minivan with 300hp and a tax credit-- these things would sell like hotcakes.

By definition power is the ability to accelerate a load. More of it means more acceleration. Torque is value that’s often misunderstood and what is really meant by almost 100% of people when they use torque in relation to vehicles is power at lower rpms. It’s a family van, not a work van. It is meant to carry people, not cargo. No one will care about this for the one time they have to remove the seats in the 10 years of ownership. Read more

Seriously. They work great as a place to attach a car-seat, or booster, which admittedly covers a really big segment of buyers, but holy shit are the stow and go seats uncomfortable. They aren’t even full height seats. I’m only 5'7" and the backs only reach up to the middle of my shoulder blades.

Because if you buy Chrysler, you’re buying crap. I’ll take the non-fold flat seats over shoddy build quality.

Integrated screens look better, but I prefer the higher mounted screen to keep my eyes closer to the road.

The mandatory backup camera can also be made into part of the center rear view mirror. We had some of that stuff as aftermarket kits way back in 2005.

The other thing that I would like to see would be hidden controls. I’d like to slide down a cover or something so people don’t bump the controls accidentally. I find Read more

May I present the Volkswagen up! which not only does this beautifully but weighs 150-300lbs less than a Fiat 500 and comes in a 117HP/150ft-lb turbocharged GTI model. Sadly, we have to wait 20 more years to get them in the US.
