Heck, even within a single model, there are multiple batteries. Imagine pulling up in a Model S with a 100kwh pack and getting swapped for a 60kwh pack? Does the swapping station pay you for the difference? They would have to forcibly standardize this down to a couple of basic sizes and that’s just not going to work

There are a lot of cars I’d buy before that.

What’s odd is how behind the times this car is. Mining bitcoin would have been an interesting prospect a few years back, but with the scarcity of new coins from mining, it’s mostly a waste of money/energy now unless you’re getting your electricity for an absurdly low cost.

Their algorithm definitely switches to a different mode when mileage hits a certain amount or the car is before a certain model year.

I think my favorite was when the guy said he liked music, so they destroyed his car to fit the world’s largest speaker in the back, taking up the entire back seat and cargo area.

“Every single vehicle sold under the Lexus badge that’s based on the Camry.”

Clearly a cost saving move.

Like that the tires are worn down, or that they put discount brand tires on a luxury car?

They scrape up the trim above my garage door.

I’ve been traveling through it all for work 2-3 times a month. Pretty much evenly split in to half by plane, half to closer places by car. My wife got Covid in late February 2020, and we slept in the same bed every night so we ran under the assumption that we’d both been exposed/had it from the start, which made us

Overall, I see virtually no negatives for the majority of half ton truck buyers, especially with these 80% charge times being down in the 15-20 minute range now for those concerned about that 2-4x a year 500 mile drive to the beach.

This would be something up to the owner to add.

What Ford is apparently not willing to say right now is how much range will decrease when hauling or towing.”

“Android Automotive, the infotainment platform based on Google’s mobile OS, has taken off slowly to date. It’s only made it to a handful of models, mostly from Volvo and Polestar, while it’s been announced for future Stellantis, General Motors, Ford and Renault products as well.”

I’ll put this in perspective. I work for a huge company.

A lot of companies have been taking back airbags if you stop making your monthly payments, for decades now. They just take the car along with them.

I really thought that this was going to be a clickbait headline, and that the airbag part would still work but some sort of OnStar-type feature would deactivate.

10 years ago I’d have thought white would be the one to drive resale down, being that most work trucks are white. Now with all the premium extra cost whites out there it actually looks nice.

That’s probably not a false statement. In 40 years he’ll probably find it in his dad’s garage and turn it in tot he government for a $5,000 tax credit.

Sounds like the guy down the street from me growing up, with a red C5 Corvette that he drove around the block (0.36 miles, I measured for off season track training in high school) once or twice every few months at 25mph for maintenance. He told us it was a collector’s car, the last of its kind, and was an investment.
