I sometimes wonder just how much I’m missing from Lifehacker because of this bug.

Outside of NYC and some downtown areas, can you really just “wave down” a taxi?  I’ve found that you need to call for one, or be near a cab stand (near a hotel or popular bar/club), otherwise who knows how long you’ll wait to see a taxi.  Some cab companies offer an app similar to Uber/Lyft now, but just stepping to

That’s exactly how the DFW baggage handlers do it. I always get to the airport early. I’m sure my bag is one of the first checked, and it’s normally one of the first on the belt at the baggage claim. At other airports, it’s pretty hit or miss, but I only remember one time where I felt like mine was one of the last.

And,

Not a fan of American “cheese,” but I’ll go along with the rest of this article. It’s fine to feed a bunch of kids at a big cookout, but it’s never going to be my choice for a decent cheeseburger.  American “cheese” sure melts nicely, but, if you care, you can sprinkle a little bit of sodium citrate (melting salt) on

I’ve tried quite a few binders when trying different rubs on brisket. I’ve settled on cheap yellow mustard and just salt, pepper and granulated garlic. Yellow mustard imparts zero flavor of its own (which is kinda weird to me), but lets more s/p/g to stick.

I think the type of rub has much more impact on thickness and

Oh, we are.

That’s actually a LOT of water, and much more than most grass lawns need. I suspect she meant to water it this much only while the freshly planted lawn is being established (which is kinda implied by the previous sentence, even though it isn’t stated).

Every dog is different, just like people. I think that basic social training is a must for ANY dog (and can be as simple as taking a puppy to a dog park regularly before bad habits develop), but beyond that, it depends on what you expect/want your dog to do (or not do).

I think you forgot to cut and paste the article here.

Where’s the article?

It seems you have different priorities in life. I wish you the best, grasshopper. I’m glad I have my priorities where I want them and I won’t have to stress later in life. I also hope I have made it clear that investing for retirement early is important. Everyone is going to have different priorities, but not

Ridiculous. The math was provided for you. For just nine years, if you sacrifice and sock away just $116 a week, you’ll retire at age 65 as a millionaire. Keep saving that amount until you retire, and you’ll have 2.3 million dollars to enjoy in retirement.

I know I was stupid when I was younger, and I didn’t start

You’re absolutely right. Budgets are about priorities. Once the higher priorities have their share of the budget (saving for retirement should come right after the necessities of living), budgeting for entertainment is a great idea. But this article pooh-poohed the idea of a cup of coffee a day having any impact on

Spending $5 a day on coffee is $1800 a year. That is almost a third of the savings reflected in this graphic, which is NOT “extreme frugality.” Investing in yourself and your retirement is wise, and it seems young people (of all generations) tend to ignore it and live in the moment too much.

Ugh, a video. Better than a slideshow, but not by much. And not enough for me to watch it... Bummer. I wanted to try this. Oh, well, Google should have a recipe.

I don’t even know what to say about this. I would say I’m shocked that someone wrote an article encouraging people to steal, but I’m not. The world has gone to shit lately. This is just one aspect of a highly complex problem in the labor world, and employees being encouraged to steal is definitely not the worst aspect

And in the rain.  And the fog (but never your high beams).
