Initial reactions:

@MayorBloomberg: Sigh. I was addressing a specific comment you made, which I read as:

@Bennal: I was going to say this would make the 5 people who use Yahoo very, very sad. But it looks like Yahoo is still #2 in market share, with ~16% of search traffic.

@MayorBloomberg: "Disagreeing with who Time picked doesn't make Time's award irrelevant."

@MayorBloomberg: As I originally commented, I believe the author is trying to make 2 separate points and, due to the whole "blogging" style, mish-mashes them together into something that gives the gist of what's meant but without clearly conveying either point.

@grimjack28: I'm almost certain I did read/hear something of the like, but probably managed to store it in short-term memory that was not permanentized (screw you, FF, that is a word)... I'd thank you for bringing it back to my attention, but I'd be lying (not that that usually stops me).

@Guy451: I subscribe to the "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" nose-picking philosophy.

I don't know about anyone else, but all I'm really looking for in Tron:Legacy is a light cycle race or two. And maybe some glowy disks being tossed around. Those were my favorite parts of the original.

@DrkPheonix: I'm pretty sure my reaction to seeing a commercial for it was saying "You've got to be fucking kidding me" in the presence of two under-5 children. I felt bad for a second, but the inherent truth of the sentiment stayed with me.

@Mayor McRib: Sir, I think you just found the line that will determine when I quit Facebook and delete MySpace... Thanks for clearing that up for me in advance. :)

@McMike: Second Life with real-world friends and without the actual escapism? I'm in. I'm sure Facebook would be a better friend than me anyway... it benefits everyone!

@grimjack28: That was way too visual for me to read at pre-7-AM... I think you may have ruined my day a little. =/

"Explosive detection systems that can pick up PETN and similar compounds are in place for checked passenger baggage. But as the Guardian reported, it's way expensive to put them into use for checking cargo. "

@hawkeye18: And, unless you have made it through the checkpoint, walking.

While I don't mean to come across as condescending... that attitude is part of the problem. By pushing their motivations, goals, desires, and overall lifestyle into the realm of MYSTERIOUS UNKNOWABILITY, there can be no progress in combating them.

@hawkeye18: Lies. The obvious solution is to ban knives.

Obviously we just haven't thrown enough federal money at this problem yet. I propose we add in some extra TSA funding to the tax "cut" bill before the ink dries too much...

@FlameCell: "Governments have secrets, thats fine, I dont care about that."

@hostolis: Oooh, that gave me shivers! (Though it may have been the 18* weather... hard to say this time of year.)
