Because HDMI does something different from how most people use USB. My phone does not have it but then I am not looking to output video to a another device.

I do not seem to have that glare with the IR based touch screen found on the Nook Simple and the Kindle Touch.

Many people seem to use just the device for all buying so I was thinking that a person might want to look for that or keep in mind that they might like the system as is.
