“Yes I would, but more importantly, I wouldn’t have to defend him, because Holdo in that scenario would not be receiving much public criticism. On the contrary, femme-Poe would likely be receiving the criticism from the public that I am now leveling against prime-Poe.”

“No, he started a thread to make fun of people who can’t help but thrust their hate of TLJ down everyone’s throat.”

“Ask yourself, hypothetically, if Holdo had been a male admiral in full military uniform instead of a relatively young-ish woman in a gown and makeup, would he have received the same criticism?”

“His comment handwaves away Alliterator’s criticisms of fanboy hate as “Oh, you just think they’re racist.””

““Mic drop” is a handwave. As is Muellerbueller’s comment.”

Please elaborate.

“Or just that it was a bad movie.

“Saying “I really want to like this thing, but it’s never quite worked for me for these reasons” isn’t “shitting all over” something.”

“There was a comic shop where I used to live that I’d visit two or three times a month. I had several books on my pull list there and usually bought something random off the shelves when I went to pick them up. That place was clean, friendly, well-organized, and the staff didn’t care if you knew nothing about comics.

Wow, thanks so much for your thoughtful reply! I enjoyed reading it!

“I’m going to guess somebody has told you you were overly dramatic at least once in your life? and it’s Amazon and eBay and online shopping that is killing brick-and-mortar stores”

“especially if those customers don’t meet a certain ‘expected’ (stereotypical) customer standard - aka, white males.”

“This article was absolutely infuriating.”

I’m afraid this whole article is the author bragging about being socially awkward, and most commenters bragging about being too riddled with anxiety to go into a store. It’s mindblowing. Amazon will be the only thing that’s left soon.

“I’m equally as uncomfortable with this post as the author seems to be with comic book stores. It’s like advertising your insecurity but acting like it’s the world’s fault.

“but if you don’t go out and support the good LCSs, there won’t be any left.”

“Labeling walls and organizing your store aren’t the exception in my experience. They’re the rule. This is just Charles Pulliam-Moore wanting some small business owner to provide him concierge service.”

“comics shops shuttering their doors means a weaker industry, means fewer and lower quality comics. They need your support”

Was that the one who told Black Widow to move “or she would be moved”?

Thanks for the thoughtful rebuttal. For one thing, I’m convinced it would be better. Also, what’s with the insults? My complaints are illustrated with examples.
