I'd like to clarify I dont really like the term Oscar Bait been thrown around but Precious and Extremely Loud and incredibly close are the two films I can remember hating purely for how desperate they were for a nod. Defiance was so pathetically transparent in its aim I couldn't summon enough energy to dislike it.

Theyre both pretty similar films that emphasize isolation and suspense over cheap scares which makes them more effective horror movies then 99% of horror released in the past 10 years.

Hatchet II, I only ever saw the first one, which was ok for a slasher movie but really nothing special and certainly not very scary, but the same guy directed Frozen and I thought that was excellent. I might give it a shot!

Yeah, I don't mind some political commentary since culture and politics are always gonna be somewhat related but when its completely unprovoked it's annoying as hell.

He's got the chainsaw arm and has more of the spirit of the second one though, in the first one he was just a goof out of his depth while in the second one it was the more comedic goof that went into critical level in the third.

Yeah, but he says "I never told anyone this" in the trailer, while if that ending stuck everyone would have known about him as he asks the little lady to leave the store. So it makes more sense to ignore it

Well it looks like theyre ignoring ED3 for this one, which I cant say I'm opposed to since neither of the endings for that movie would work for this series and I never thought it was as good as the first 2 anyway
