i’m glad to see none of my vehicles on that list. and none of the entries is surprising.
This is a bad idea. I buy just about everything except groceries (and even some groceries) from Amazon. If i can buy a car with one click, this is going to be trouble.
Is it just me, or does it look like the bastard love child of a Cayman and a BR-Z?
used Lexus LS430. The old LS400 won’t have enough tech and the current LS460 will have too much. And it’ll need a trip to the custom shop to have the leather seats retrimmed in cloth and the remote start and dash cam installed. And maybe someone can fabricate some steel bumpers for him?
i missed out on an SJ Cherokee twice! i was 16 and saw it for sale on the side of the road. i think it was a 79. Two door, wide track, red, v8, 4 spd. maybe a 3" lift, 33" tires, custom bumpers made from .250" wall 4" square tubing. This thing was all sorts of bad ass. Slightly out of my price range, so i started…
Favorite Neon design flaw: The automatic transmission selector shaft was hollow and the kickdown was a rod down the center of the shaft. In theory, good space saving idea. in application, especially here in the rust belt, horrible idea. after a few winters of being out in the salt, the two shafts would rust together.…
I was always wrenching on something at the house i rented in college. Sometimes late at night. sometimes after several beers inspired me to make an (often ill-advised) modification to my car or one of my room mates’. the landlord had no issue with it. the neighbors, however, did. They even called the cops on me, once.…
I work at a multi-franchise dealership that includes BMW. the easiest way to get from one end of the building to the other is to cut through the service depts. You always need to watch your step when you open the door to BMW service. There will at least be a huge oil slick there, if not engine parts scattered across…
hopefully they buy a weight-distributing hitch for the next rig. that truck shouldn’t be squatting like that!
the carpet in the opel is the coolest thing i’ve seen in a while
i saw the title of this article and told myself not to read it because i would have issues with it, but i read it, and i have issues with it, so here goes:
NASCAR at Watkins Glen doesn’t run “the boot”, because that’s just too many right turns. they’re already confused about running the track clockwise.
The best thing I remember of Formula SAE was taking the car to SCCA autocross events during the summer and absolutely destroying every other car.
I agree with everything on here except the Lexus. 3 years ago i would have agreed with that, too. But I have since started working at a multi-line dealer that includes a Lexus franchise, and their cars are fantastic. The fit and finish is top notch, they never break down, and if they do, Lexus will warranty it, even…
I stereotype people by what they drive. What’s sad is i’m usually right. In fact, the stereotypes hold up so well that my wife and I play a game where we observe the vehicles in the restaurant parking lot, then try to guess who drives what when we see the people inside.
I had a hoarder come in for a safety inspection back when i was a technician. Every seat except the driver’s was full of garbage up passed the windows. I failed it for seat belts. I couldn’t find them and damned if i was going to start rooting through all that filth.
A quick search of YouTube netted complete season 2. I could probably find the rest if i looked harder.
BMW’s have an electronic shifter. if you open the door in gear and take your foot off the brake, the computer instantly puts the transmission in Park. This is especially fun when you need to move a car around the body shop with a door removed...
