I haven't read either of these books (shocking, right?) so does anyone know if the afore-mentioned scene of ejaculate in a prostitutes face is actually contained in those pages?

I wouldn't classify these as torture porn. To me, every one of these looks like a rape/murder victim. And as art, they're rather banal. Meh.
I think the strength of the adaptation will hinge upon what they do with the concept of "sleeves."
I just want more bellbottoms and high-waisted belts.
"Dragon's Domain" completely freaked me out when I was a kid. Even though now it's clearly just a rubbery tentacle monster, it was really creepy and effective when I was 5!
This sounds like it would make the most awesome bottled water EVER.
Well, there is that little winged flying box which I have to assume is there annoying computer sidekick. Shame it didn't talk much though.
We haven't seen enough of the creatures to understand their life cycle, or what keeps them going; it's possible that it simply died out when there was no prey left to hunt.
Yeah, I think it's a retcon. The Pilot in ALIEN looked like a fossilized skeleton for sure, especially with it's exploded chest bones. I don't how a creature OR a suit could "graft" into it's seat, but who can explain Giger's twisted imagination?
FYI, IMDBPro still lists the live-action movie as "in-development" with a release date of 2016. They updated the info on Jan. 1, 2012. That shows they're still interested, but it's clear they haven't come up with a workable script yet (or a studio to bankroll what's obviously an expensive production).
Cool, how do I find out about the meetupz?

He should have ejected when Biggs told him to.
A deep cut. Very nice (slow claps)
Jen, next time you're in LA visit a kitsch shop called Y-Que in Los Feliz. They have a Veritech fighter silkscreen design, I have two of them on t-shirts.
Interesting. So was the other nuclear missile still going to detonate, causing the earthquake and killing Lois? That would have left her dead until the end of the second movie if things had gone according to Donner's plan.
Despite the cheese factor, there was a surprisingly gritty tone to "Captain Power". You could tell they were chafing under the 'kids show meant to sell toys label' and wanted to go somewhere a little darker (kind of reminds me of the future world in the "Terminator" series). The final episode gave hints of that…
It was how Superman ended, but Donner apparently wanted to do it AGAIN at the end of Superman II.
It's just a pearl necklace... don't they all look the same?
"regardless"
