Oh, 100%. I can totally see it as streaming series now; I just want them to consolidate the rights so that they can keep going through Count Zero and finish with MLO.

I can’t see how they would all connect together. Maybe as an anthology but not as one interconnected storyline (like Marvel). Each of his trilogies is evocative of the decade he published them – the Sprawl was very 80's, the Bridge was 90's, Bigend(?) was early 00's, etc. With each trilogy he rewrote his vision of the…
The rights to the Molly Millions character are part of Neuromancer, so the producers of Johnny Mmemonic could not call that character “Molly.” That’s how we got stuck with “Jane.” Essentially it’s the same character -- though her augments are obviously different and she has no mirrorshades (which I think she had in…
Does that explain the faulty antenna diagnosis though?
If we’re really talking the WORST, I would like to include pretty much every spaceship AI system outside of HAL. He was at least capable of making decisions in the moment vs. following a pre-programmed script. I’d rather try and debate HAL over arguing with a dumb computer that won’t stop opening the airlock when I’m…
I know they “explained” his behavior in 2010, but before the sequel was released it was more fun to enjoy the mystery. Is it possible that HAL became so sentient that he adopted the human trait of fallibility? He made a mistake -- and then went to extreme methods to cover it up because he wasn’t supposed to ever be…
Sooooo..... the last movie ended on the note that dinosaurs were now roaming everywhere freely, and we would all have to learn how to live in a world where they exist, with all the horror and redonkulousness that that implies.
Totally get all that, and honestly in the situations you’ve laid out there is little advantage to using the phone over a basic webcam.
You don’t need to put the iPhone camera in 4K mode to get a good image.
Well I don’t know about you, but I do all that stuff in a separate window on my laptop while I’m on the call. The best thing about keeping it all on one screen is that my eyeline doesn’t change; people think I’m paying attention while I’m only looking slightly to the right at my Slack window. If you’re looking down at…
Oh yeah -- “doomed” is total hyperbole. Webcams aren’t going anywhere; the whole tone of this list is pretty ridiculous.
Okay, wait a minute. When you wrote about Google Wave you said:
I wouldn’t count using the camera on your iPhone as “wear”, it’s not like the camera has a limited lifespan. The only you drain is the battery and that’s easily solved. Maybe not the best if you’re constantly on Zoom calls but for the occasional 1-2x a week this is great. And with that new mount they showcased it…
Please, for the love of god, do not add any more cast members. The bench is already way too deep and some performers are barely getting any screen time (hello, Aristotle Athari). Just let the cast shrink down to a reasonable number for a change and let some peeps shine.
I think that show is dead. They ran out of adaptable material (the 2nd book doesn’t seem to fit into the world they’ve built), the author is a TERF and the show was too expensive for the amount of views it got.
I don’t *cough* know what *ALIEN*cough* what you’re talking about.
I mean, this is pretty much what’s been happening for the last decade or so. EVERYTHING from our childhood is going to be strip-mined to death.
This is *not* official and no one but Ridley Scott has ever said anything about this. And he often talks out of his ass because he’s not a writer and half the time his comments don’t fit within the established timelines of the franchises so you can take his comments with a heaping grain of salt.
EWWWWW
The fact that we needed to dig through ancillary material and wait for clarification on a website for this information — instead of, I don’t know, actually learning it in the film — points to the utter failure of imagination in the screenplay. This wasn’t some small plot point you shuck off to a side project (“why is…
