Yeah the view from the front is less than flattering...

I’m lazy I prefer flap disks and its electric so therefore eco friendly

Pfft:

I think part of it is color hue. The older cars used generally warmer colors. Personally, I love me some beige interior, but it is getting increasing hard to find. Except for the Lexus LC500 which has an absolutely gorgeously warm interior. Take a look at it and see if that strikes the “comforting interior” bell.

White knight or in this case black knight syndrome or whatever you'd call wanting to send a message to people who make you look bad with your peers. Some may say race traitor but that's primarily an Aryan thing and I'm not hep to the lingo.

Around me they are universally driven slowly by cryptkeepers in Navy caps with inappropriately young third wives. And only to Cars & Coffee and Covette meets. In God’s Waiting Room, FL, there are MANY Corvettes seen sitting in garages, yet relatively few actually on the streets.

How big is Ft. Bragg though. It’s not like say, Maricopa Co. Sherrif Dept, where the county is bigger than 7 or 8 of those teeny tiny East Coast States.

Because Space X is privately owned, as is X.  We dont know exactly who owns what or how much.  Tesla is a publically traded company of which Musk only owns 13%, though he does seem to have the board under his control (which is going to bite them in the ass when the stock collapses one day and all the shareholder law

Don’t forget the charging network. That’s probably the best part of current Tesla.

This! I have a 15-yo F250 6.4 PSD because I DO tow our 9k trailers through the mountains where I live. Regularly. I can’t stand the Muricans here who have so over-personalized a hunk of iron so badly.

Sweet spot is the STX trim.  Only real luxury is A/C vents in the rear.

Yes, cops have quotas and DUIs probably help them meet them pretty quick.

I’m not aware of re-gen braking, but there is a central power unit; a stationary diesel with an electric generator. That generator powers the electric motors, (and huge planetary gear reduction) inside of each enormous wheel. It’s a remarkable unit, and I drove past it almost everyday on my way to work.

It’s always bugged me that I can get pulled over for not wearing my seat belt, but motorcycles exist.

For the first time ever, the NHTSA is considering implementing even the slightest pedestrian safety standards for new cars. You can leave a comment in support of this here:

Because motorcycles are a big business and as such they have lobbyists and trade groups to make sure they stay legal.

Exactly. If they are concerned about pedestrian safety as they claim, how about you allow cars that allow drivers to see the environment around them better? An F250 hood would block the view of people in wheelchairs, short people, kids, pets, shorter cars, so on. But we can crash it into a wall at 45mph and the 2

Very much the case around here too. Either being driven like there is an egg on the accelerator blocking the left lane, or at Warp 9. No in-between.

Every time someone is driving on the freeway 20 mph slower than traffic, with their windows down to save on running the A/C.  It’s a white Prius. Every single time.
