I remember in the 90's going to a movie at the Sunset 5 theater in West Hollywood and the trailer for The Usual Suspects came on. After it rolled there was a moment of silence between trailers and a very gay voice loudly whispered “Don’t go see it!” I’m guessing Singer had a reputation even then.

That whole bit with the X-Men cast in full costume confronting Singer in his trailer where Halle Berry said “You can kiss my Black ass” — again, dressed as Storm — is instantly my favorite true Hollywood story.

No wonder all those “difficult” women weren’t cast for movies.  With people like Singer around, being such a dream to work with!
