I’m still mystified by the presence of “Apu” on The Simpsons for two decades. How did that one ever pass the smell test?

I still think Krakowski playing a white-passing Native American on "Kimmy" was in poor taste, but I seemed to be in the minority, at least over in the AV Club.

There were reactions, I think, to the other instances of blackface, but with the “two black swans” joke it just shows Paul and Jenna in costume and there’s no response. You’re actually just looking at a person who decided to wear blackface wearing blackface.

If at first it’s not funny, try, try again! I kid, I did love this show.

I’m surprised that they dipped into the blackface well on multiple occasions.

Quick comment to make sure this article does not provide misinformation in the same way it is critiquing 13 Reasons Why...

13 Reasons Why is the carton of milk you buy from the store before realizing it was already a week past its expiration.

Jacksonville, sweet!

Try harder, try hard. I’m saying that this particular person was not impoverished not that no white people are poor. It’s insulting to anyone who is or has been in poverty. Like, actually infuriating. Tara Reade’s life has been drenched in privilege. She got to act as an “expert witness” without one person checking

yeah, I agree with this read of the situation. Like you could get to the end of this Jezebel piece and feel reasonably sure she grew up dirt poor, even though there’s nothing to really indicate that. Like... she was working for Joe Biden very early on in her career. This isn’t a normal sign of being held back.

I don’t disagree that class is an issue. I don’t disagree that there are no perfect victims. I don’t even disagree that she has lived a hard and sad life.

You know, I can understand how, at first glance, the NYT piece can read as classist.

Poverty?! She was in poverty?!?! This is some White nonsense. I’ll see myself out.

Biden isn’t keen on that. Still, it’s hard to view this as a disappointment when there was no chance of him adopting this stance in the first place.

To be really clear— there is absolutely no major American example of completely defunding the police— the oft-cited example of Camden (likely the model Minneapolis will follow)— was more of a reorganization of the Police force than a disbanding— with 250 Officers fired but significantly more officers hired for a net

Do you want some police to vote for Biden? Do you want people who think defund the police means anarchy to vote for Biden.

Yeah, she’s got to be a troll: Who the hell is this “psychotic fanbase” that allegedly exists for Joe Biden, of all people?

“his psychotic base” so....older black voters?
