You don’t make definitive statements like “no, the game is on time, it’s a mistake on the retailers’ part” by accident. That’s something you go find upper management to confirm because it’s a PR shit storm waiting to happen. Apparently they decided other priorities mattered over the backers who have already given them…

In this case the story is about them possibly lying about the delay because it would almost certainly negatively affect the Red Ash Kickstarter, not really about the delay itself.
